TEMPTATIONS

Temptation is the hardest thing to overcome.

A bag full of $100 bills, was left by a guard on the sidewalk, and the armored car pulled off. What would you do? All your bills are overdue? The car broke down, you are hungry, about to be evicted, again what would you do? I already know, that the person who is not a Christian would take it and split, but if you are a Christian what would you do?  Would it be wrong to keep it? Would you think it’s an act of God to supply your needs? Would you pay or give 10% of it as tithe and offering?

Well to be honest with you, keeping it would be a sin. Honesty is always the best policy. You did not receive it as a gift, and you did not work for it, so that would be considered stealing. The three main temptations of sin has just presented itself to us:

The lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and the pride of life (Luke 4:5-12). We always ask God, not to lead us into temptations (Matthew 6:13), so we shouldn’t have a problem turning the money in. It’s when we yield to the temptation that it becomes a sin, and a curse.

The Bible teaches us, “not to love the world, neither the things that are in the world” (1 John 2 : 15-17). Sorry, but I have to break it down for you. “The love of money is the root of all evil…” (1 Timothy 6:10).  “…you can’t serve God, and money.” (Matthew 6:24).

The Bible, clearly states, “seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and everything will be added unto you.” (Matthew 6:33); This one is the true answer, “But my God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory, by Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 4:19) not your glory, or man’s glory, but His (God’s).

Yes, I know it’s a tough one. But that money would bring more misery than prosperity. Take a look at James 5:1-3, Proverbs 10:2, Proverbs 15:16 and Matthew 6:19-21. Now how do you feel after reading those scriptures? God is always faithful to deliver the Christian out of any temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13). That’s how good God is.

UNANSWERED PRAYERS

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” that’s what Hebrews 11:1 tells us. Now who is your faith in? Yourself or God? His will, His ability, and His promises or yours?

Did you know that faith without works is dead (James 2:17).

Doesn’t demonstration beat elaboration, and a man without hope is hopeless. But let me ask you something, when you ask for something, most of the time, don’t you have to wait for it, or you’re one of those, “ It’s now or never people.”

Yes, Numbers 23:19 tells you, ”He does not lie,” and 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, ”He is not slack concerning His promises,” and He did say a few times, ”ask anything in His (Jesus’) name and you will receive it” (Matthew 21:22; John 14:12-14).

So what’s the problem? A few things is the problem:

(1) Did you ask for it in Jesus name? John 16:23-24.

(2) Is it God’s will or yours? James 4:3; Matthew 26:39.

(3) Are you a Christian? If no, how do you expect to get anything from someone you don’t know. Matthew 25:11-12, John 10:14, (sorry that’s God’s word. Read to the end if you want to know Him, it tells you what to do).

(4) Okay, you are a Christian, what type? Hot or Cold? Listen when it comes to God, there is no lukewarm, nor half and half Christians. It’s either you are or you are not. Revelations 3:15-16.

(5) As a Christian, are you walking in righteousness? If not, then you are praying in vain or amiss. How do I know? His word says so, read them all for yourself, Isaiah 59:1-2, 1 Peter 3:12, James 5:16, Psalm 37:25, Matthew 6:33, Psalm 11:7, this is just a few.

(6) You must wait on God. He only works on His schedule or time, not ours (Isaiah 55:8-9).

(7) While waiting, you must not murmur, complain, doubt, be anxious or fearful, and if you have any unrepented sins, known and unknown, ask for forgiveness. Once you ask in faith and not waver, the answer is on the way (James 1:6-8; Hebrews 10:23).

(8) We must cast down all imaginations (past failures, doubts, fears, etc.) that comes against the knowledge or word of God – 2 Corinthians 10:5. Then cast all your cares on God – 1 Peter 5:7. Then go sleep or rest – Hebrews 4:3.

(9) To eliminate all negativity, you must now praise Him, thank Him, read the scriptures, meditate on it, declare it, confess it, hide it in your heart, while confidently waiting, according to 1 John 3:21.

(10) I don’t care who you are, if you are not right with God you are not getting anything you ask for. Do you want to get right with him or know Him, go to the top of this blog, click the salvation page, and follow the instructions.

DO WORDS HAVE POWER

Growing up, some used to say, “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can’t”.

It may not break anything, but it cuts like a knife or better yet a sword, some cut so deep it leaves permanent scars or wounds, some people camouflage it, some overcome it, some allow it to ruin their lives, while the strong, and wise ones use it to catapult them to success. And there are those of us who replace it with Gods word, which can be good or bad. This all depends on a few things:

(1) Is it enticing, and beguiling words that makes you feel good on sunday, and horrible the rest of the week,(1 Corinthians 2:4; Colossians 2:4)

(2)Are they words, which mans wisdom teaches, or what the Holy Spirit teaches,              (1 Corinthians 2:13).We must also note that the natural man can’t receive the things of the spirit of God, because it’s foolishness to him, and Gods words are spiritually discerned,1 Corinthians 2:14.

(3) True Christians know that,”The word of God is quick, powerful, and sharper than any two – edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul, spirit, joints, marrow, and a discerner of thoughts and intent of the heart”. Now that’s dunamis(explosive) power in the word of God.

Jesus used words to cast out spirits(Matthew 8:16;Luke 4:32-36).So people I implore you, lets use words to edify, prophecy, comfort, exhort, love ,etc..to bind the enemy, and loose Godly blessings. You can find these in, Acts 13:15 ;1 Thessalonians 4:18 ;1 John 3:18; 2 Peter 1:19.

 Gods word will not pass away (Matthew 24:35) so allow the word of Christ to dwell in you richly,Colossians 3:16.

WATCH YOUR MOUTH

  The tongue has the power of life, and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

It is better to bite your tongue, than to let it bite someone else.

A careless word always starts a strife, a cruel word will wreck someones life, a well spoken word will decrease some pain, while a loving word will heal and bless.

The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but, a deceitful tongue crushes ones spirit.

The tongue of the wise, commands knowledge, but, the mouth of the fool gushes folly.

A wise mans heart guides his mouth, and his lips promote instructions.

A fools lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating.

The tongue is like a fire, that spreads a world of evil.

The tongue is a small part of the body, but makes a great boast.

No one can tame the tongue; it is restless, evil, and full of deadly poison.

A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered.

Even a fool is thought to be wise, if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

A fools mouth is his undoing, and his lips a snare to his soul.

If you think you are religious, and do not bridle your tongue, you deceive your own self and your religion is useless.

It’s not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man, but what comes out of the mouth, defiles a man.  All these sayings are scripturally based, and can be found in the book of James 1-3;Matthew 15:11;Proverbs 16, 17, 18, in the Holy Bible.

WHOSE LIST ARE YOU ON

I was looking at Forbes list of the richest people in the world, and I did not see my name.Then it dawned on me, I was looking on the wrong list, my name shouldn’t be on that list. It’s on the heaven bound list(Luke 10:20). I don’t know about anyone else, but I would rather live forever, than be rich for thirty years and end up in hell.

When you die your money is no good, where ever you end up, bet you never thought of that, you spend your whole life trying to get it, and can’t take it with you.

The richest man who ever walked this earth was, King Jesus and He said,’it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God’ (Matthew 19:24).

How many of these multi – billionaires you hear of or know of, die ,and take money with them, or fame, popularity, or prestige, lets face facts. When you die, where ever you end up, there is no Forbes list, no popularity list, no nationality list, you get the picture. There will be two lists, one for heaven, and one for hell, which list are you on?

I know, I am on the heaven bound list, because:

1) I admit that I am a sinner in need of repentance.

2)I ask God to forgive me, and He did. 

3) I believe that God, sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to save me, so I accepted Him, and asked Him to come into my heart, and stay there. Since then I’ve become a new creature  and live for Him daily.

Your future can be secure also, just try Him. John 14:6 tells us,’He(Jesus) is the only way, truth, and life, no one goes to God without going through Him. Will you accept Gods gift now, tomorrow might be too late, do you really want to take that chance to continue living without God, do as I did and let Him into your heart.

GOD IS SPEAKING

Lets be for real, when are we going to see that God is trying to tell us something, instead of trying to figure out ways of stopping these natural disasters from occurring, which are not man-made. Let’s stop pissing God off, just be still and know that He is God, and He must be exalted among the nations and in the earth (Psalm 46:10).

What does God have to do for us to realize that He is in control, and always will be.

Weapons of mass destruction can’t touch Him much less destroy Him, advanced science and technology is not even close to a fraction of His intelligence.

He is still the owner, and CEO, of this earth, He is the Head of everything and everybody in the universe, He is still all-powerful and wants us to know it.

We better start to realize like David in 2 Samuel 22, that God is our deliverer, fortress, shield, salvation and a whole lot more. Like God said, “If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

For all this to stop, we as a people need to repent, and start worshiping the true and living God. In Job 42, Job realized that God sees and knows everything. Job didn’t do anything wrong, but he repented anyway, prayed for his friends, and God restored everything to him. Jeremiah 7:23 also tells us to obey His voice and walk in all His ways and it will be well with us. Hey, I am just His messenger.

BLESSED

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted,

Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth,

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled,

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy,

Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God,

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God,

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven,

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of the Lord,

Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

Matthew 5:1-12.

BENEFITS

Benefit is advantage, favor, profit or good which some people have, and some don’t. When you start adding up your sorrows then you will increase your pain, and leave you, with a depressed and burdened down feeling. However, if you start adding up your benefits and blessings it will multiply your joy.

Here is a list of benefits that  multiply my joy: (1) God forgives all my sins through His son Jesus Christ. (2) He heals my sickness and diseases. (3) He redeems my life from destruction. (4) He crowns me with loving kindness. (5) He shows me tender mercies. (6) He satisfies my mouth with good things, so that I am renewed like the eagle. (7) When I am oppressed, He executes righteousness and judgment. (8) Once I abide or stay in righteousness and holiness, like Moses, He will reveal His will for me. (9) He is merciful and gracious. (10) He is slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. (11) He hath not dealt with me based on my sins. (12) He has not rewarded me according to my iniquities. (13) On top of all that. He wakes me up every day and gives me goodness and mercies, plus a whole lot more. All this is found in the Bible, Psalm 103:1-13; John 3:16; Proverbs 68:19.

Now you tell me, who else has a better benefit package than a child of God? Keep in mind,  this is just a few scripture verses and benefits.

Philippians 4:19 – He shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus, not by the government or some human.

Listen, it’s a privilege, honor and a blessing to serve God. Look at what’s taking place around the world. If it’s not war, it’s earthquake, then tsunami. You better take advantage of His benefits to be on the safe side, alive or dead. What are you waiting on? Look at what happened in Japan! Trust me all the people who accepted Jesus are safe and secure, on earth or in heaven the good thing is they are safe and secure in God’s arms. Come on and enjoy the benefits that salvation gives. DEATH OR LIFE

I wonder how many times God is going to save us from death and destruction, before we acknowledge and serve Him. I wonder if He decides not to wake us up or give us grace and mercies for a day, how would we feel, act, behave or survive? What if He decided not to give us any kind of light or oxygen, not to mention food or water. We would die in such a state. I think most of us take Him for granted too much.

Yes, Psalm 103:8-10, tells us, “The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy. However, He will not always strive with us; neither will He keep His anger forever. He hath not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our iniquities.”

If you know the Bible, it says, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ, our Lord (Romans 6:23). For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall he give in exchange for his soul? (Matthew 16:26).

Don’t you think you are taking a big chance with your life? What if God decided, not to wake you up, or save you from an accident. You should know where you will end up, Heaven or Hell.

Jesus, in Luke 17:32-33 mentioned Lot’s wife in Genesis 19:17-26. The angels told her not to look back. I guess she was missing her old lifestyle before she started the new one, this led to her death). ”People who try to save their lives will lose them, and those who lose their lives will save them.”

Hey! It’s your life and your choice. No one is forcing or begging you, hopefully you will give Him your life today, tomorrow might be too late. If you want to live forever go to the top of this blog, then click on to the salvation page and follow the instructions.

In John 10:6, Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for He is with me, His rod and staff comfort me. (Psalm 23:4)

THIS IS AWESOME

Is there anyone out there who see the things I see, and get excited like a kid in a candy store, when I see the breath-taking view of the sun peeking over the horizon, with  the different colors illuminating the sky, or the moon with the stars splattered all over the sky.

No! folks this is not a fallacy of mine, not even the meteorologist who gets paid to tell you the weather can describe it, I even wonder if they see it. No artist can ever capture the authenticity of these magnificent masterpieces, and you want to tell me there is no God.

Just do me a favor and get up early before dawn or when its dark, find a park or beach where nothing is blocking your vision and just look up, then just give Him the praise, glory, honor, and thanks for the view.

King David describes it so eloquently for us in Psalms 19, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands, day after day they continually speak, night after night they make Him known. They speak without a sound or a word;their voice is silent in the skies. Their message has gone out to all the earth, and their words to all the world. The sun lives in the heavens where God placed it, (far enough, so it does not burn us up, close enough to warm us ,and give us light to see). How awesome is our God.

The sun burst out like a bridegroom, rejoices like a great athlete ready to run a race, rises at one end and slowly goes to the other end. This my friends is infallible proof that ,there is a God.

 His law is perfect, to convert you. His testimony is sure, making the simple wise. His statutes are right, rejoicing the heart. His commandments are pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is clean, it endures forever. His judgments are true and righteous, and is more desirable than the finest gold.’
