Sometimes people are amazed at the things Christians go through and yet continue praising and trusting God. They fail to see that it’s just a tactic of the enemy to get us to dislike the only One who can help us, the only One who never leaves or forsakes us and the only One who can and will deliver us. It’s only our heavenly Father that gives us that inner strength and tenacity to grit our teeth, bear the pain and move forward because through Jesus Christ we are strengthened to be more than conquerors and through Him we live and have our being.
It’s when our focus shifts from our supernatural God to our inferior issues that we become weak and feeble in mind, soul and body. But we must keep our eyes and mind on Jesus, who is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:12). We must remember that in Luke 22:31-32, Jesus said satan’s desire is to sift us as wheat, which means he will continually be on our backs riding and fatiguing us. Thankfully, Jesus is interceding for us and praying that our faith does not fail (Romans 8:34). In Luke 22:40 He tells us to pray so that we won’t enter into temptation.
Most of us have been through stuff and God wants us to help each other, that is why in Luke 22:32 He tells us that when we repent and look to Him we should strengthen and build up our brother and sisters in Christ. Paul in Ephesians 3:14-20 prayed for the whole family in heaven and earth that God (the Father of Jesus, of whom the whole family of heaven and earth is named) would grant us according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man, and Christ will dwell in our hearts by faith, grounded and rooted in love, so that we can understand with all the saints the length, width and depth of Christ’s love for us, that led Him to the cross so that we could be forgiven and be in a relationship with our Creator.
Faith, hope, trust and confidence in God through Jesus will allow us the privilege of seeing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us; the power Jesus gives us in Luke 10:19 to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt us.
In Mark 11:22-26 we see the power of faith in God that when we ask and pray we will receive. Philippians 4:6 says prayer and supplication with thanksgiving lets God know your request. Then James 1:17 reminds us that God only gives good and perfect gifts.
Jesus is a good and perfect gift. Receive Him today, if you want Him in your heart. Just go to the top of this blog to the salvation page.
