HOW TO WIN FOR LIFE

When life has dealt us devastating blow after blow ;and our mind and body are physically, emotionally, and otherwise depleted of strength. When the will and hope to go on, has faded, we must remember that we serve and have a God that becomes our strength when we are weak. God becomes our shelter when we are homeless, our rock when we are drowning, our shepherd when we are lost, our lawyer in the courtroom and our doctor in sickness. So when we are at our lowest point in life, as long as He lent us breath for another day, it means we have hope, grace, mercy, and love. What we do with it is up to us. Do you give it back by wallowing in self-pity or do you pick up the pieces and allow God to lead and guide you?

Most of the time we get impatient while waiting on the Lord to answer our prayers. Isaiah 40:31 tells us that, they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint. Then Lamentations 3:25 tells us that the Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him. Later, verse 26 says it’s good for a man to both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

While waiting we should build up our trust and confidence in God by remembering where He brough us from, because Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us that it is by the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not; they are new every morning, great is His faithfulness, morning by morning new mercies we see.

Then Psalm 23:6 reminds us that without hesitation or shadow of doubt, He guarantees us goodness and mercy everyday as long as we live. Now this is a win for life promise that is authentic, not even the lottery can give such a promise. Jesus gives us eternal life that the lottery ticket Win for Life cannot guarantee. because God’s promises are yea and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20) and He is not slack concerning His promises and He does not lie(2 Peter 3:9). Which is better, a win for life ticket to heaven or the one the lottery sells in New York?

The main thing God wants us to remember and get during our waiting period is to look back at the things you have been through that He has delivered and set you free from and humbled you like He did Saul, who was later named Paul while traveling on the Damascus road. Then put all your hope and trust in Him because no good thing will He withhold from those who love Him and walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).

LET YOUR WORKS GLORIFY GOD

People who claim to be Christians fail to realize that whatever they do or say must glorify God. You can’t say you are a Christian and do the same things a non-Christian does. You must be set apart; people must be able to see the difference in you because you are the salt and light of the world. Our purpose, as Christians, is to add flavor and shed light, which exposes the evil things and people of this world.

How do you know that you are the salt and light of the world? When you are obedient to God’s word, laws, precepts, statutes and commandments laid out for us in the Bible. Children of God don’t have deep dirty secrets because our heavenly Father will expose them once He applies the belt of truth to us. However, once we confess our sins, as 1st John 1:9 tells us, “He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Once we are forgiven we are back in right-standing with God. Furthermore, Romans 8:1 tells us that, “There is therefore no more condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but walk after the Spirit.”

What people fail to realize is that God does not operate in sin or where sin dwells. So, when someone is healing the sick and are doing things in holiness and righteousness it means they are walking in light and they are the salt that awakes dead things in the world; resulting in God getting the praise, glory, honor and thanks because He uses us as conduits or righteous vessels to display His grace, mercies and compassion.

However, Matthew 5:19 shows us that when people overlook any kind of sin they are in disobedience and His light is not shining through them, because it says, “If you break the smallest commandments and teach others to do the same, you will be the least in the Kingdom of heaven.”

As Christians we should duplicate the characteristics of Jesus Christ so that God can say, “this is my beloved child in whom I am well pleased.” No matter what the circumstance was, Jesus showed compassion, mercy and grace covered with love, which are the character traits of His Heavenly Father whom He represented.vJesus made sure God’s reputation and name was not blemished or tarnished by any means necessary. As a Christian, are you doing the same?

CONSEQUENCES OF WILLFUL SINNING

“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins” {Hebrews 10:26}. However,2 Peter 2:20-22 puts it this way,”For if,after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and savior,Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it,and overcome, the latter end is worse  with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after they have known it,to turn from the Holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, the dog is turned to his own vomit again, and the sow that wad washed,to her wallowing in the mire”.

IT’S SIMPLE

It is sad when people are seeking God for worldly possessions, yet refuse to love Him or accept Him. However, for Him to give you the things you seek He requires you to be obedient to His word. Jesus tells us in John 14:15, “If you love me keep, my commandments.” The only solid proof that you love God is if you keep His commandments. In 1 John 2:15 we are told not to love the world or the things of the world in. Then James 4:4 tells us if someone is a friend of the world then they are God’s enemy.

When we keep God’s commandments then the Holy Spirit will reside in us because of our obedience. Plus, He will comfort, help and guide us into all truth. These are the certain things that the people of the world cannot see, receive or know, because they do not know God; as 1 Corinthians 2:14 says, the natural man can’t receive the things of the Spirit of God, because it is foolishness to them and they can’t know the things of God because they are spiritually discerned. It’s only when you love God, He will in turn give you the desires of your heart because you seek Him; Hebrews 11:6 and many other scriptures point this out to us.

When we know the commandments of God and keep them, we are displaying the love of God and Jesus will manifest Himself to us. When we cry to God the Holy Spirit residing in us He will help us, comfort us and lead us into all truth. The Holy Spirit, as we see in John 14:26, is the one who teaches us all things and brings to our remembrance everything the Bible says.

Jesus not only came to save us, but to give us peace of mind, body and soul; peace that the world can’t give us, or take away. Therefore we can’t let our hearts be troubled or afraid. Let’s obey God and do as Romans 12:1-2 tells us to because we are the temple of God and the Spirit of God dwells in us (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Watch God do a supernatural and historical move in your life. We love him because he first loved us (1 John 4:19). He loves you and you are His child.

ENDURANCE

Sometimes we go through things that seems so unbearable. But if we consider what some people have gone through and lived to write about it or testify, we will find that with Christ we are able to bear it. And as it says in Psalms 34:19,” Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord ,delivers us out of them all” Jesus said in John 16:33 In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer,He has overcome the world, and so can we. The devil and his agents can never defeat us,because God gave us the victory through Christ Jesus, we see examples of people like Joseph, Job and Jesus, our Savior, who endured such hostility and opposition from sinful men and Jesus resisted to the point of shedding His blood, that led to His death, burial and resurrection. Which tells us that like the three J’s (Joseph, Job, and Jesus), God, who is faithful, will eventually or has already resurrected us from our trials, troubles, tribulations or whatever problems we face. The three J’s were faithful and obedient to God; which is the criteria for God to redeem and resurrect us from our dilemma. They trusted God and did not lean on their own understanding. They neither complained or murmured, plus they prayed without ceasing.

Most of us, if not all of us, hate pain and suffering, but Hebrews 12:5 tells us not to despise chastening, nor be discouraged when we are rebuked by God. We will be rebuked because we all have sinned and fallen short. However, He never leaves or forsake us. Plus, Hebrews 12:6 tells us who the Lord loves He chastens and every son He receives He scourges. As a matter of fact punishment strips and kills everything that is not of God, because it allows you to kill the flesh and its desires and draw close to God and the Holy Spirit can reside in us. You must admit that the only time most people draw closer to God is when trouble strikes, because the devils plan is to steal, kill, and destroy everyone who belongs to God.

In Hebrews 12:10 it confirms what I said, that when God disciplines us it is for our good and it puts us on the right path to righteousness and holiness. Discipline purifies us from the contaminants of this world and it is then we know that we are true children of God and not illegitimate children.

As Hebrews 12:11 confirms that no one likes discipline, it is never joyful or pleasant, but painful. However, afterwards it yields or manifests the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have learned from it. This increases your faith in God to the mountain moving supernatural level and allows you the privilege of walking as Jesus walked on earth. That’s the blessing of salvation.

God disciplines out of love.

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; for whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:11-12

GIVE YOUR ALL,AND GET GOD’S ALL

When God does anything for us, He does it all and He gives us His all. Therefore, we should give Him our all in everything we do, so that He can be glorified, praised and thanked. In 2 Corinthians 1:3 we see that He is the God and Father of Jesus Christ and also the God of mercies and all comfort. Therefore, it does not matter what kind of aches and pains we have, He has the right amount of comfort we need. Even if you are heartbroken, sick, sad, troubled, or fed up, He is the God of all comfort and Jesus asked Him to give us the Holy Spirit to comfort us, lead us and teach us all things (John 14:16-26).

God knows that, with the trials and tribulations in our daily life, we would need all kinds of comfort; plus while Jesus was on earth He realized that we would need comfort. In John 14:26, He informs us that the Holy Spirit who dwells with us and in us (verse 17) will not only comfort us, but teach us all things and bring all the things that the Bible and Jesus said in His word back to our remembrance. That’s why He said in John 14:27 that He will leave His kind of peace with us and give us His peace, therefore, we should not allow our hearts to be troubled of afraid.

The beauty about life as a Christian is that when we are troubled, distressed, afflicted or suffering it is for our benefit; because Christ suffered we will also suffer. Those who suffer with Christ will also reign with Him. God promises to comfort us.

The Holy Spirit, as we see in Romans 8:26-27, not only comforts us, but intercedes for us as well. By reading Romans 8:34 and Hebrews 7:25 we learn that Jesus intercedes for us; He is also our advocate, defender and lawyer.

The main point to all this is that no matter what, God will comfort us in our moments of disappointment, sadness, tears and troubles. What is important on our part is that as we receive comfort from God we should in turn comfort others with the same comfort we’ve received (2 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 4). This is why Paul praises God in his second letter to the Corinthians (2 Corinthians 1:3), he did not praise God only because He is Jesus’ Father, who is our redeemer, but Paul praised God because with the comfort God gives us we are able to comfort others. 1 John 2:1-2 tells us that Jesus is our advocate; He is the payment for our sins and the sins of the world. When Jesus left, God sent the Holy Spirit to dwell in and around us to be closer to us.

STANDING ON GOD’S PROMISES

We live in a society that is full of broken promises; where a person’s word is not their bond. Most documents are full of loopholes, escape clauses, prenuptial agreements, and fine prints that you can’t see with your naked eyes, because the person or persons have hidden agendas or plans. However, there is one person who never breaks His promises or have any hidden agendas, and all His promises are written in the Bible, signed by the blood of Jesus, and sealed and delivered by the Holy Spirit. The first thing you must know about God is that, He does not break or lie about His promises.

For all the promises of God in Him are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee” (2 Corinthians 1:20-22).

The truth and fact of the matter is that “God is not a man, that He should lie, neither the son of man, that He should repent; Hath He said, and shall He not do it? Or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good? Behold, I have received commandment to bless; and He hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it” (Numbers 23:19-20). Then when we look in Hebrews 6:13-20 it states:

For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could not swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself (Read Genesis 22:16, 17) saying,  “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath of confirmation is for them an end of all dispute. Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (Hebrews 6:14-20) This brings me to 2 Peter 3:9 which tells us in no uncertain terms that,

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

In 3 John 2, He said, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”  Let’s get deeper in God’s promises. In Genesis 17:1-2 God told Abraham, “I am Almighty God; walk before me and be blameless, and I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.” And Galatians 3:29 lets us know that, And if ye be Christ’s, then ye are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” Galatians 4:4-7 reminds us that God sent Jesus to redeem us and we are adopted sons and daughters and an heir through Christ. Are you going to give away your rights?

“Therefore know that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments,’ according to Deuteronomy 7:9. If we look in Hebrews 13:8 it tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

“See I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call Heaven and Earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessings and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; that you may love the Lord your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and  the length of  your days…” (Deuteronomy 30:15-20)

This tells us that the choices we make in life are all ours. Have you made your choice yet before it’s too late?

WHAT’S IMPORTANT

Have you ever get to that point in your life, where the things you thought was so important, has lost it’s value, lust, and enticement. It is normally after you achieve these things that you realize that the thrills and excitement that drives you to get them was based off covetousness, greed, lust, pride, and selfishness which leaves you empty, unsatisfied, unfulfilled. All those wasted years, money and time, could have been use more productively. The point is whats gone is gone,so why cry over spilt milk, the thing is what are you going to do with the rest of your life fron this point on. The big house, cars, illicit relationship, money, among other things didn’t do it. So what will make you happy? Can I suggest Jesus, since He owns and controls, everything you seek, own, and crave for. Psalms 50:10-11 “For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills. I know all the fowls of the mountain;and the wild beasts of the field are mine”. Then Psalms 24: says,”The earth is the Lord’s,and the fullness thereof;the world, and they who dwell therein. For He hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods. Who shall go into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

WHERE TO FIND WORDS OF COMFORT

When people are going through tough times, this saying is true, “If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything.” Some people just say things that will add gasoline to the fire or salt to the wound. In other words, they will only make the tough time harder that it already is. It is a good thing that our God is a God of comfort and you will always find comfort in His word. Authentic Christians, those who allow God to work in them and use them, will most times seek to encourage you instead of ripping you apart.

The prophets of old brought both good news and bad. However, in Isaiah 40:1, God’s message was to comfort His people. God wanted them to know that He had pardoned them of their sins and He will make everything right. In verse 4-5 of Isaiah 40, He promises to exalt every valley experience and lower every mountain or hill in your life, and all the crooked paths shall be made smooth and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together: For God has spoken.

As children of God, we will always be comforted by God’s word. This is why Jesus said, He will not leave us comfortless, but will ask our heavenly Father to send the comforter (the Holy Spirit). Unlike David who encouraged himself in the Lord, Jesus has given us the Holy Spirit to encourage us. Jesus knew that in the last days we would reach places in our life where we wouldn’t be able to encourage ourselves, but He who is greater intercedes and prays for us, and even does those things that we cannot.

  • When your prayers are answered that’s when you see and know that God has been glorified, praised, honored and thanked beyond measure.
  • Remember, the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are opened to their prayers (Psalm 34:15; 1 Peter 3:12)

Allow God’s word to be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Meditate on His word and experience His comfort, joy and peace as you keep your mind on Him. God’s word is the only source of comfort because only God can move on your behalf.

Some trust in horses, chariots, and people but when you trust upon and meditate on God’s word you will find strength, security, and everything you need.

God’s plan of salvation includes you. Why not accept His plan of salvation, which includes His plan for your life? Visit the Salvation Page above and follow the instructions.

JESUS=THE GOOD SHEPHERD

There is only one good shepherd and His name is Jesus. He is the way to God and He opens the door for us to go to the Father; anyone who does not go through Jesus is known as a thief and a robber (and like their father Satan they only come to steal, kill, and destroy as John 10:1, 10 tells us). In today’s society there are many and they are known as false prophets, the anti-Christ and atheists; who are all counterfeits. Besides the original one and only Jesus Christ; who is God’s beloved Son and the only way, the truth and the giver of eternal life, plus, the only access to God – there is no one else.

Most people want to think that Jesus is just a regular prophet and man, but there was nothing regular about Him. He was holy, righteous, and without sin. He endured hardships, temptations and every trick of the enemy, that’s why God made Him the door and the way to have access to Him. We who follow Him, know not only His voice, but His works through the Holy Spirit by which we are sealed until He returns.

As a Christian you should know the voice of God apart from anyone elses especially that of a thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. That’s why the Bible tells us to be sober and vigilant because the enemy is like a roaring (hungry) lion seeking someone to devour. We can see how active he is in these last days. The devil is seeking, killing and destroying the lives of our young men and women, this is why we have to put our spiritual armor on daily and pray without ceasing.

It’s time for the church to be unified and active. We have the power and authority that Jesus gave us when He gave us the keys to the kingdom in Matthew 16:19 and Matthew 18:18 to bind and loose. Plus, according to Luke 10:19, we are also given power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. We are acting like we are afraid but God never gave us the spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7).

When we listen to the voice of Jesus and are obedient then we have no problem following Him. We will be known as His disciples and we will be exercising the power and authority He displayed over the enemy. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

Jesus is the only one who can lead you in the path of righteousness. Receive Him into your heart and life today.
