A SHINING LIGHT

Ephesians 5:8-14
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”
Matthew 5:14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

“But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day;The way of the wicked is as darkness, they know not at what they stumble” (Proverbs 4:18-19). Who are you a shining light for? Are people praising you more than they are praising God? Are you praising people more than you are praising God? “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven,” is clearly stated in Matthew 5:16. So why is it that so many people out there are taking the praise and credit for God’s word, His anointing, His power, His grace and mercies. It is God who is supposed to get the glory, praise, thanks, and honor. Jesus is the true light, which gives light to every one in the world, as we see in John 1:1-9. Let’s not get it twisted, as to who gives us the light to shine.

“For it is God who works in you  both to will and to do His good pleasure; Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life…” ( Philippians 2:13-16 ). Who is your light shining for? One thing we must always remember is that God is light, and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth; But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:5-7). However, 2 Peter 1:19-21 says,
“And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit”.
You only shine if you have fellowship with God, if you are righteous, and if you are presenting your body to God as we see in Romans 12:1-2.

Are you interested in letting God’s light shine through you? All it takes is for you to admit that you are a sinner and in need of Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life as John 14:6 shows us. However to begin the process we must read 1 John 1:9-10, which  states that, “If we confess our sins, He (God) is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness; If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” If you are serious go to the top of this blog, click on to the Salvation Page and follow the instructions. I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness.

BE SOBER AND VIGILANT

The enemy will use every tactic and person available to him to take our minds off of this time of year, called Easter or Holy week; where we remember what God has done for us through His beloved son Jesus Christ. Most people, including some Christians, have gotten so modernized and untraditional that they forgot that according to Deuteronomy 6:6-18, God wants us to teach our children and folks who don’t know what He is all about, what He did for us and what this season of holy week is all about. This is the time of year where everything that is dead is resurrected; the easter lilies, flowers, trees, the weather, Jesus’ death and resurrection. Just like communion He wants us to remember these events and teach it to the children. It’s not the time to be thinking of personal problems and issues of the world, it’s time to reflect on God’s grace and mercies, what He has done for us and where He has brought us from. You can run from traditions but you can’t run from God and His word.

That is why as Christians God requires us to be “Sober and Vigilant”, because the adversary of the Christian is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour(1 Peter 5:8). Sometimes the devil uses people who you least expect, or suspect. People who you trust, he dresses them up, sugar-coats them, and spices them up so it looks and tastes like a gift from God or a Word from God, so that you might fall for it. But God is so good and awesome because with the temptation He always provides a way of escape  (1 Corinthians 10:13). This is why God tells us to study His word to show ourselves approved, so we can rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). Therefore if some people don’t want to talk about Resurrection week, so what, they can’t stop God’s word and His creative activities from being manifested.

The problem is that, most Christians think that the enemy is of flesh and blood, that’s why there is no unity among brethren.  This is why God wants us to cast all our cares upon Him so that we can be sober and vigilant enough to identify the enemy who is trying to devour and destroy us. God wants us to resist the enemy, and stand firm together in faith, because we are all going through the same hurt and pain (1 Peter 5:7-9). Why are we fighting each other instead of edifying each other? Instead of trying to make each other perfect we want to blame, tear down, and rip each other to minces, or chopped liver. When you preach, teach, minister or advise are you edifying and perfecting as Ephesians 4:11 -16 says or do you take pleasure in devouring and destroying?

Yes, all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, but God says in 1 John 1:9 that, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Also in Romans 8:1 He tells us that, “There is, therefore, now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” So to silence the enemy we must feed and walk after the Spirit of  God, who resides in us. It’s when we are distracted, that the enemy takes our minds and thoughts off of the word of God; which is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edge sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrew 4:12). This is why we need the right word at the right time to cancel the plans of the enemy, so God’s children can remember that the devil is defeated and we are more than conquerors, through Christ Jesus death and resurrection.

This easter lets not get distracted. Be sober and vigilant and look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. This is a reminder to everyone that the devil is after us and he will do anything, and everything to separate us, divide us, and prevent us from remembering what God has done for us through His son Jesus Christ, who did it all. ARE YOU IN CONTROL

Who is in control of your life? Who makes the decisions in your life? Who is the head of your life? Ok! Although you may make your own decisions, and you feel that no one can tell you what to do. Realize this, if God is not running your life then the devil is. Now if the devil is running your life, then you should know that you are on a  destructive path that is going straight to hell . Ecclesiastes 7:29 says,”Truly, this only I have found: That God made man upright, But they have sought out many schemes.”

Most of us would love to think that we are making the right decisions until trouble or problems surface. Then we turn to God instead of obeying His word. In Proverbs 3:5-6 states for us to, “Trust in the Lord with all our hearts, and not to lean on our own understanding, also when we acknowledge Him (God) first in everything He will direct our paths, and His paths are heaven bound”.

No matter who or what you are in this world you will have to answer to God sooner or later. One thing that is certain is that God owns the Heavens, the earth and everything in it. Including you whether you believe it or not. Without God running your life or being in your life you will be ruined and you will never have control of your life. God had control before you were born or possibly before you were even an idea. Psalm 139 : 13-17, Galatians 1:15 and Jeremiah 1:4  tells us that, ‘God knew us before we were in our mothers womb and the plans He had for us’.

If you think, you were not included in those scriptures then you are blind, lost or both. If you believe that you control your own life then you are also on the ship of the blind and lost. Get off the wrong path and turn your life over to God through His only begotten son Jesus Christ. BE DELIVERED from mental slavery

Mental slavery has been our biggest defeat for decades. The enemy has brainwashed us and dis-combobulated our minds with so much lies and deceit that we don’t know who to trust and believe.He has successfully planted doubt and fear into people’s minds that they are confused and destroyed because of a lack of knowledge. Just as it is written in Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge, because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.” There is the problem. We’ve stopped serving God and have eliminate Him out of our lives and now it’s affecting our children in a devastating fashion.

What did you really think would happen when you remove God out of schools and everything else? When you pass laws that are contrary to God’s words, plans, and will? It has gotten so bad that people in these latter days have strayed from Gods truth, His promises, and His word so much that we have invited perilous times on ourselves because the fear of God has escaped our logic, our thoughts, and our minds; whichever fits you best. What is it with today’s society, that when people are delivered from something or someone they behave or act like they are still in bondage.

Children of God, lets not be like the children of Israel who was freed physically but incarcerated in their minds. We must purge our minds and thoughts of everything that wants to keep us in sin. God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ to liberate us (John 3:16-17) and the good news is that He did. Folks no one else can deliver us from the devil and hell, except Jesus Christ. John 14:6 tells us He is the way, the truth, and the life and NO ONE goes to God except through Him. Whose report are you believing? Who do you trust? The creator or the created? God or the devil? Be delivered today!

Colossians 1:13 tells us, “He (God) has delivered (rescued) us from the power of darkness and conveyed (brought) us into the Kingdom of the son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.”

Because of this we are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His (Gods) own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). Come on children of God lets walk, talk, and act like we have been delivered.

Let me assure you time is running out. Stop delaying and procrastinating, in earlier years only old folks pass away, now in the latter days, if you notice younger folks are dying before the old ones. The cycle has reversed. Parents are burying their children instead of children burying their parents, think about it. It is appointed unto men once to die after that it’s judgement (Hebrews 9:27). Make your appointment to go to heaven, it’s a one time deal, there is no other bargain.

All praises, glory, honor, and thanks go to God for using me in these last days to minister to His people. I pray that God will fill you with the knowledge of His will, in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you will walk worthy of the Lord fully pleasing Him in Jesus Name, Amen.

CHANGE YOUR WAYS

No matter what God does to get the attention of people, they just seem to miss the point, or they try to rationalize the problem, which leaves them hopelessly confused, and with a closed mind full of darkness. They choose to be alienated from Godly lifestyles and Godly principles. How many dangers seen and unseen, how many encounters must we have before we realize God loves us, and does not want us to die? What will it take? Death?

It’s time to amend your ways, this is what the Bible says about those who reject God, “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning, for it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.” – 2 Peter 2:20-21

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world  His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened, professing to be wise, they became fools and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man…

Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lust of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever; for this reason God gave them up to vile passions, for even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature, likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the women, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful…and even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting;

Being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God…unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but approve of those who practice them.” – Romans 1:18 – 32 Again I say you need to amend your ways, because the coming of the Lord is near, and your chances of being saved from sin dwindles with each passing day.

Hebrews 2:3-4 says, “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them who heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will.” So what are you waiting for? Give your life to God today. Tomorrow may be too late. DON’T FORGET GOD

Why accept all His tangible gifts,and reject His only begotten Son? Sometimes we let the abundance of God’s gifts cloud our judgements, and lead us down the wrong path, thus separating us from the giver who is God, It also tarnish the gifts, ruins Jesus Holy Name, and the believers credibility. We as Christians, must learn to escape the corruption of this world,which is publicize by its evil desires,”For God giveth to a man who is good in His sight, wisdom, knowledge, and joy; but to the sinner He giveth travail, to gather and heap up”..( Ecclesiastes 2:26).”Every way of a man is right in his own eyes; But the Lord pondered the hearts (Proverbs 21:2).

Let me explain something to you, when you allow God’s word to fill your memory, rule your heart, and guide your life, sin will not have dominion over you, that’s why David said, “Hide God’s word in your heart, so that you will not sin against Him(God)'(Psalm 119:11),then he said,”God’s word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path(Psalm 119:105),yes , David messed up on many occasions ,but he was man enough to admit it,confess it,and beg for forgiveness,David knew the power and might of the God he serve,he knew without God ,he would perish;that’s why he was always seeking forgiveness(Psalms 51:1-10;Psalms 86).

Repentance ,clears the way for God to work with you,for Him to operate on you;it allows you to submit to God and resist the devil,so that he will flee(James 4:7);Repentance also put you back in right standing with God; a right relationship,that’s why David said,’Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me (Psalms 51:10).Remember Your body is the temple of God,we are joined to God in one spirit,we were bought with a price;therefore we should glorify God in your body and in your spirit,which are God’s( 1 Corinthians 6:15-20).

 I deliberately ,use  King David,as an example because he was a man who followed ,obeyed,praise and worship God with all his heart,he walked in integrity ,and uprightness most of the time from a teenager,who was a shepherd boy to the king of Israel,until he died(1 Kings 9:4),he was not perfect,but God chose his bloodline to introduce Christ Jesus ,because the heart was willing to serve God above everything and everybody. But Jesus was perfect and without sin,He never forget God the Father,that’s why Jesus was always praying,consulting with God on everything.

BEING STRONG IN GOD

2 Corinthians 10:3-6
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled”. I always admire soldiers, they are strong,and always ready for any type of attack from the enemy, they are trained to be on alert at all times. Now as soldiers in the army of the Lord we are also required to be strong, sober, and vigilant, because our adversary, the devil, is like a roaring lion walking about, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). This is what is puzzling to me, the soldiers of the world,train daily, clean, and sharpen their weapons regularly, so why aren’t the soldiers in the army of the Lord doing the same thing; we too should be praying, fasting, meditating, and studying Gods word to show ourselves approved unto God, a soldier that is not ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth ( 2 Timothy 2:15).

How can you be victorious,and a conqueror if you are not prepared, that’s why so many Christians are defeated today, and is incapable of submitting to God, and resisting the devil, so he can flee( James 4:7); that’s why they have no power to tread upon serpents, and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, where nothing can hurt you ( Luke 10:19).

Lets do the maths , no word + no faith = no power; little word + little faith = little power; plenty word +plenty faith=plenty power;  No prayers = no answers; No God + no Jesus = death. God + Jesus=eternal life. Gods word is not chained or hidden from the christian,so lets exercise our rights as children of the most High God. “But if our gospel be hidden, it is hidden to them that are lost, in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them who believe not”…( 2 Corinthians 4:3-6).

Soldiers don’t run around aimlessly, they know their duties,so why are the Christians running to and fro, carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men ,and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive (Ephesians 4:14). We as Christians need a reality check, and make sure we are walking circumspectly not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16).

Your duty is to please God only,your aim is to be a disciple of Jesus Christ our Commander in chief, anything or anyone else is insignificant. We are followers of Christ, which makes us fishers of men. A soldier in Gods army don’t get tied up in the affairs of this life, we endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ ( 2 Timothy 2:3-4)

A PATH OF DESTRUCTION

2 Timothy 3:1-5
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
It’s amazing how people don’t realize that the events that took place centuries ago are still happening today. All the devil did was just change the name to make it appealing to every generation. There were false prophets among the people then, just as there are false prophets and teachers now. False prophets and teachers are among those who secretly introduce destructive heresies, deny the sovereign Lord who made them, and are oblivious of the fact that they bring swift destruction on themselves.

Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality, and because of them, Jesus  Christ and his truth is slandered. In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold  of your money. But God condemned them long ago and their destruction is on the way. For God did not spare even the angels when they sinned, He cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment (2 Peter 2:1-4).

We are living in the last days, as most of us who are not blind can see. That’s why the Bible reminds us in 2 Peter 3:3-4 that in the last days there will be scoffers (mockers, people who don’t care) who will laugh at the truth, and do every evil thing they desire; This will be their argument: “Jesus promised to come back, did He? Then where is He? Why, as far back as anyone can remember, everything has remained the same since the world was created?” However, if they follow the course of history and allow God to reveal His truth they would see the changes, because the natural man can’t receive the things of the Spirit of God, because they are foolishness to him (1 Corinthians 2:14).

For all those people who are searching for the Messiah and other ways to God, Jesus said it best in John 5:39-43,

“You search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life, and these are they which testify of me, but you are not willing to come to me that you may have life. I do not receive honor from men, but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in you; I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me; but if another comes in his own name, him you will receive.”

People in the latter days underestimate the power of God, totally forgetting or disregarding the fact that God did not spare the ancient world, except for Noah and his family of seven(Genesis 6-8). Noah warned the world of God’s righteous judgment, then God destroyed the whole world of ungodly people with a vast flood. Later He (God) turned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into heaps of ashes, and swept them off the face of the earth, this you can read in Genesis 19. This was an example of what will happen to ungodly people; however He did rescue Lot who was righteous (2 Peter 2:5-10).

The Lord knows how and when to rescue godly people from their trials, even while punishing the wicked straight up to his return and judgement day. Matthew 5:19-20 tells us that,

“Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of Heaven; But whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven. For I say unto you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and pharisees, you will by no means enter the kingdom of Heaven.”

Which path are you on? What is your excuse now? What will it take? How long must God wait for you? Listen time is running out. Look around you, are things getting better or worse, doesn’t same-sex marriages remind you of Sodom and Gomorrah? Now unto Him who is able to keep us from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God, Our Savior, be glory, honor, praise, and thanks for using me to minister to His people. To Him belong  majesty, dominion, and power now and forever. May He also grant His children the spiritual wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as they receive His word, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

WHAT GOD HAS FOR YOU

Eyes have not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of men, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him; But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, yes the deep things of God.               – 1 Corinthians 2:9-10

Sorry but if you don’t know God through His only begotten son Jesus Christ, then you will NEVER know what God really has in store for you. John 14:6 tells us that Jesus is the way, the truth,  the life and no one gets to God without going through the chain of command.

Listen to these verse and understand the words;

“For since the beginning of the world, men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen, any God, besides you, who acts for the one who waits for Him” (Isaiah 64:4).

“Even the mystery which hath been hidden from ages and from generations is now manifested to His (God) saints” (Colossians 1:26).

Are you one of His saints? If Jesus returns right now will you go with Him? Now is not the time to play church and put yourself above others. Isaiah 40:31 puts it this way:“But those who wait on the Lord, shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall  run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

In Jeremiah 29:11-13 it gives greater meaning by telling us,”For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future, then you will call upon me, and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you, you will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart..”(NIV).

To receive what God has for us we need to accept His gift of love which is His only begotten son Jesus Christ. We need to believe that God raised Him from the dead. Realize and understand that what God has for us is eternal life and His son Jesus Christ is the only way in. John 14:6, says what? It says “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.”

Jesus said it, I believe it, and that is all I need to hear to believe it! How about you? When we seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first that is when we will receive all the added things God has for us (Matthew 6:33). Do you still want what God has ready for you?

Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variable neither shadow of turning (James 1:17).
