A BETTER PLACE

TIME TO FOCUS ON HEAVENLY THINGS

A song says, “Great is thy faithfulness, O God our Father, there is no shadow of turning with thee. All I have needed thy hands have provided, great is thy faithfulness.” Abraham experienced God’s great faithfulness. Even though Hebrews 11:1 says faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen, Abraham showed us that faith is total obedience to God’s word, way and will.

Jesus demonstrates it by dieing for us in total obedience to God our heavenly Father with the trust and confidence that He is faithful to raise Him up from the dead with all power. Some people refer to this as blind faith but faith is not blind because the God we trust, believe and have confidence in sees and knows everything because He is omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient.

Abraham, even though he did not see the city, was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, designed and built by God(Hebrews 11:10). Paul says it this way, “I press toward the high calling of God which is his prize (Philippians 3:14). Then he advises us in Hebrews 3:1 to be partakers of the heavenly calling. According to John 14:2, Jesus, our Messiah and Savior told us, before He left, that He has gone to prepare a place for us. Then in Revelation 22, God gave John a vision or glimpse of this place.

Therefore as Hebrews 11:13 points out, the truth and fact of the matter is we who are believers and Christians are foreigners, strangers and pilgrims on the earth. That’s why Paul tells us in Philippians 3:20 that our Citizenship is in heaven. So why are we so consumed or overtaken by the wealth of this earth when we have better to look forward to when we get home –  to that place created by God that is sinless, stress-less and trouble-free. Verse 16 in Hebrews 11 describes it as a better country, a heavenly homeland and that’s why God is not ashamed to be called our God because He already has a heavenly place (home) for us. Are you heading there? Or are you so consumed with earthly riches that will soon be destroyed?

Are you ready to relinquish your earthly citizenship for the heavenly one? Your earthly citizenship can’t compare with a heavenly one. In these last and perilous days, it’s time to focus on the heavenly treasures that God has promised us. In 1 Corinthians 2:9 that we have not seen or heard. Stop storing treasures on earth store it in heaven (Matthew 6:19).

There is a prerequisite to receiving your heavenly citizenship. Don’t worry, you don’t have to pay for it. That prerequisite is to welcome Jesus in to your heart. You can do so now going to the top of this blog, clicking on to the salvation page, following the instructions, and praying the salvation prayer.

EARTHLY TREASURES

Are you working hard to get to Heaven or hell? Most people work hard to acquire their dreams, which could be a house, car, boat or whatever, yet they are never satisfied. So there is a constant need for something bigger and better, and the more money you make the bigger the needs you seem to have, which grows into wants for  perishable items, thus replacing God in the process. There is nothing wrong in wanting better, if it will be lasting. That is why  John 6:27 tells us not to labour for the things that are perishable, but for that which endureth unto everlasting life. If you think material possessions or all these earthly treasures are not perishable, then why would fire or weather conditions, such as tornadoes and hurricanes, destroy everything you have worked so hard for all your life? Better yet, if you should die prematurely can you take anything with you?

Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt and where thieves break through and steal, instead lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where it is untouchable by the enemy as Matthew 6:19-20 tells us. However, we are reminded in 1 Timothy 6:7, that we brought nothing in this world, and it is a proven fact that we can carry nothing out. A mother’s womb is not big enough to produce a house or car along with a baby and a casket is only six by six, furthermore wherever you choose to go, be it heaven or hell there is no need for earthly items. So the question is, What profit is there if you gain or acquire the whole world and lose your soul in the process?

Luke 9:25 says it best, “For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away? In acquiring these dreams and goals that people set for themselves, they lose sight of the Creator who owns it all; Because they are consumed by the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life, but I must remind you that Galatians 6:7-8 says, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a man soweth, that shall he also reap, for he that soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” Again I ask, Are you working hard to get to Heaven or hell?

One thing is for sure, no matter how hard you work it will not save you. Ephesians 2:8 – 10 makes it clear, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” The world with its lust and desires should never entice a Christian, because once you have tasted the bread of life, then you should never hunger and thirst for earthly possessions, because our desires and tastes should be for spiritual and heavenly things. Psalm 34:8 says, O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him.

As Hebrew 2:3 says, “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation…” Then Hebrews 3:15 says, “While it is said, Today if ye will hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in provocation.” Don’t delay, just go to the top of this blog, click on to the salvation page, and follow the instructions, and start acquiring heavenly treasures.

CONQUEROR

If you are not anchored in the Lord how can you conquer the difficulties in your life? Jesus is the only solid rock we can be  anchored to in order to be conquerors, of fear, doubt, sickness, debt, etc. Who are you anchored to? Your family, your job, your friends, maybe it’s your Pastor; Must you be reminded, that it is only because of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, why we are not just conquerors, but more than conquerors in all things, such as tribulation, distress, persecution, sickness, disease — you name it. Romans 8:37 says,”Nay, in all things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.”   The Bible said it, now it’s up to us to believe that we can conquer our fears, doubts, sickness, debts, and any obstacle the devil and his agents put in our way, don’t allow him to kill, steal and destroy you, because Jesus made you more than a conqueror.

“For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us,” we see this in 2 Corinthians 1:20. Then 2 Peter 3:9 confirms that God is not slack concerning  His promises…The question now is: Are you going  to allow the devil to take advantage of you, now that you know that you are more than a conqueror? Remember also that in Luke 10:19, Jesus gave us the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt us. So why are you allowing sickness, trials, tribulation, and other things to hurt you and keep you down, depressed, and above all influencing you to give up? Must you be reminded again that you are a conqueror with power and nothing by any means can hurt you.

“Now thanks be unto God, who always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savor of His knowledge by us in every place; For we are unto God a sweet savor of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish.” (2 Corinthians 2:14-15). “For whatever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith; Who is it that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” Do you believe? If you do, then you are a conqueror, if not then here is your opportunity to start believing. Just go to the top of this blog, click on to the salvation page, and follow the instructions, so that you too can become a conqueror.

As a song says, “On  Christ the solid rock, I stand all other ground is sinking sand,” when you are anchored to Jesus we will not be tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, by which they lie in wait to deceive (Ephesians 4:14). To be a conqueror you must anchor on to Jesus, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2:5-6). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one goes to God without going through Him (John 14:6).

All glory, honor, praise and thanks go to God for using me to deliver this message. I pray that He will give all who read this message the spiritual gifts necessary to comprehend and act upon His word. WRONG CHOICES WITH OPPORTUNITIES

Back then, like today; people are still rejecting and denying Jesus Christ, who is holy and just. He is also the way, the truth, the giver of everlasting life, and the only way to access God (John 14:6). Acts 3:15 shows us that Jesus is the prince of life, who was killed and raised from the dead so that we would have an opportunity for eternal life, access to God, and be redeemed from the curse of death.

Acts 3:14, 15 “But ye denied the Holy One and the Just and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead ; whereof we are witnesses.”

Peter used an opportunity to speak to a crowd about who Jesus is and what He is to a dying world. Peter demonstrates his power in the name of Jesus by using the authority Jesus gives us to tread upon serpents and scorpions and all the power of the enemy(Luke 10:19). The enemy had prevented the men from making an honest living and reduced him to begging in order to survive, but that day he begged the right people, who did not meet his financial needs but gave him a choice, a chance and an opportunity to do the things he never had a chance to. Peter used that opportunity to let people see the miracle of healing and tell them that Jesus is the one who is behind it all and the One who gave it all to us. Most people believe better when they see things, that’s why Jesus told Thomas, blessed is he who does not see, yet believes. Acts 3:18 shows that everything that the prophets spoke that Christ would suffer was fulfilled.

Peter in Acts 3:19 warns us to repent and be converted that our sins may be blotted out. In Hebrews 2:3 we are told, “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation.”

God does not repair our hearts, He replaces it as we see in Ezekiel 36:26; 2 Corinthians 5:17.

“A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

YOUR REASONS FOR PREACHING?

Most people do things out of love, others for money, fame and other various reasons. However, Paul in Philippians 1:15-18 tells us the truth about why some people preach. Some of those reasons are jealousy, rivalry, and selfish ambition; today it’s also because of greed and pride, which leads to covetousness.

While some see the fringe benefits that salvation brings both heavenly and earthly. But as Paul says, no matter the reason, he is satisfied that Christ is preached. However, most people preach because of the earthly blessings which ends up leading them astray, failing to realize what the heavenly blessings and promises are.

Disappointments and problems, trials and tribulations is what strengthens the Christians faith, hope and trust in God because it is only then that God can show Himself mighty. It is such a pleasure and a blessing when He shows up and rescues us out of our dilemmas. God is trying to tell us that, like Paul, no matter what state we find ourselves we should be content and use it as an opportunity to share the gospel, which allows others to see the God in you.

While pain and suffering leads some people to God, it can turn others from God. Unfortunately those who turn from God will never experience all the joys that salvation brings and His perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Paul’s example to us today is that no matter what, be faithful and fearless believers in Christ and preach Jesus in any opportunity that arises in any situation.

Paul celebrated and spoke about Christ in everything and in every way. That’s why in Philippians 1:21 he boldly says, “For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.” This signifies that it is a pleasure to die because, you will be with Jesus in the presence of God singing holy, holy, holy Lord God almighty. There will be no more earthly contaminants to pollute your mind and system, like sickness and diseases, and above all we will live forever with the Lord.

We must do as Romans 12:1-2 says, “…present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” We should do this to the point that we are not ashamed, rather bold so that Christ will be magnified through you and God our Father be glorified.

Is everything that you do glorifying God, our Father?

Your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men but in the power of God (1 Corinthians 2:5).

Adversity often pushes us into our divine destiny.

SANCTIFY, CONSECRATE AND PURIFY

1 John 1:9 tells us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. That’s why it is very important to free yourself of any contaminants of sin, before you get into the presence of God through Christ Jesus. This is nothing new. In Joshua 3:5, Joshua told the children of Israel the same thing God is telling us today— to sanctify, consecrate and purify ourselves in order for God to reveal or manifest His great, amazing, and supernatural wonders through us.

Remember 1 Corinthians 2:14 tells us that the natural man can’t receive the things of the Spirit of God. Also verse 9 and 10 tells us that, “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” Romans 12:1-2 tells us to present our bodies to God, holy and acceptable, be not conformed to this world but be transformed in the mind in order to see God’s glory manifested in the supernatural and wonderful things He does.

When we are sanctified, pure and holy as God is, then He will make us great in the eyes of others so that they will see that as He was with everyone in the Bible, so He is with us today, because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Jesus said He will prepare a table for you in the presence of your enemies, plus anoint your head with oil till your cup overflow, but this is based on and can only happen in righteousness.

Joshua 3:9 – 10 tells us to listen to and hear God’s word so that we can know and others will know that He is the true and living God who we serve and love. Thus, He will not fail to drive out and eradicate all of our enemies and wherever we go He will go before us. Remember, He promised never to leave or forsake you, so you don’t leave or forsake Him either, because He only stays where He is welcomed.

Have you welcomed Jesus into your heart yet? Is He welcome to dwell within you? Revelation 3:20 says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” Open the door of your heart to Christ and receive His salvation today. EPHESIANS 2:13-18

“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”

GIVE UP OR CLIMB AND FIGHT

When you reach the end of the rope, the decision you make is critical, do you just give up, let go and die? Or do you climb to the top, because you are more than a conqueror, a fighter, ambitious, or just tenacious. Some people fail to realize that no one ever gets to the top of  a mountain without climbing. However, nothing beats the prepared mind that knows that it will never be easy and there will be  delays, bumps and bruises, but the thought of giving up never enters the mind because once they reach to the top the challenge becomes easier. At the top there is plenty of room because very few are tenacious enough to go the distance or all the way. Unfortunately not may people have the patience or stamina to fight to the end.

However, as a child of God, giving up is not an option and quitting is not a choice. “Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the Lord, the  Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary, His understanding is unsearchable, He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.” – Isaiah 40:28-29 Why are so many Christians giving up? Why has the Christian conformed to the world, and like the unbeliever is complaining and murmuring instead of being transformed by renewing their minds by praying to, praising and thanking God? Have they stopped reading their Bibles? Have they given up on God? I would hope not because He never gives up on us. Have they forgotten His promises, of never leaving or forsaking them, as is written in Hebrews 13:5? Have they forgotten that, “When the righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles; The Lord is near unto those who are of a broken heart, and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit; Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all,” as is written in Psalm 34:17-19? Are you giving up because you are unfaithful and unrighteous? You can change all that by confessing your sins and indiscretions and get right with God so you don’t end up where you don’t want to, in a place called hell. 1 John 1:9 tells us that, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” SO KICK THE DEVIL TO THE CURB AND TAKE UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW  JESUS!

Don’t give up and quit, it’s time to put your hope, trust, faith and confidence back in God, who owns the universe and everything in it including you. The devil does not own you. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are brought with a price; therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 If you are not glorifying God then it means you are glorifying the devil by complaining and murmuring. Today, make a promise  to yourself to never give up. Let’s follow the Apostle Paul’s advise from God in Philippians 3:13-14, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

Here is another reminder, Romans 8:37-39 tells us that in all things we are more than conquerors through Him that loves us… and nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus, our Lord; unless you have rejected God’s love and gift of His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. John 3:16-17 tells us the purpose of Jesus’ coming. When you are a child of God then His grace is sufficient for you, for His strength is made perfect in weakness as 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 points out. Moreover the battle is never yours, it’s the Lord’s once you accept the gift of His Son. 2 Chronicles 20:15 says, “And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.”

However, if you are not a Christian, you have the power to turn things around by going to the top of this blog, clicking on to the salvation page, and following the instructions. Be a conqueror through Christ Jesus, DON’T GIVE UP, BUT CLIMB AND FIGHT, it will be worth it in the end. Quitters never win and winners never quit.

I pray that He will give all who read this message the spiritual gifts necessary to comprehend and act upon His word. NO DISCRIMINATION

As Christians we should BE like Jesus and show no regard of or ignore race, gender, lifestyle or anything else except a sinner who needs to be saved. Jesus knew what Zacchaeus did for a living but that didn’t stop Him from trying to save his life. Zacchaeus was determined to meet Jesus and no one was going to get in his way of seeing and knowing Him.

Zacchaeus’ actions prove to us that, whosoever seeks the Lord will find Him. Hebrews 11:6 says, “…He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.” Zacchaeus was rewarded with the presence of Jesus in his home because Zacchaeus diligently climbed a sycamore tree just to see Jesus in the midst of a large crowd. And yet just as how the Lord rewarded Zacchaeus with eternal life because he sought Him, the same applies to anyone who does the same today. Another thing is that Zacchaeus received Jesus joyfully because he knew his life would be changed from bad to good — he believed in the power of Christ.

What I love about Jesus is that He did not care about what the people said regarding Him going to Zacchaeus’ house or about what the people said regarding Zacchaeus (Zacc for short). These people were not genuine because they forgot who Jesus is; wherever He goes or stays demons tremble and flee, above all restoration, purification and sanctification takes place because He came to seek and save the lost. Secondly, the scripture Isaiah 59:1-2; 50:2 says that God’s hand is not shortened that He can’t save everyone. Jesus was not concerned about His status in society or about what Zacc did before meeting Him (these would have been distractions), His mission was to save the lost and that’s what Jesus did.

What the people failed to realize was that Jesus set them free from the evil tax collector, because when He saved Zacc. He removed satan’s agent and replaced him with a God fearing and obedient servant. Which means instead of delivering the people from their oppressor, Jesus delivered the oppressor and brought Salvation to him so that he would treat God’s people fair. This is why Zacc offered to give back to those he stole from and oppressed. Why move hundreds when all it takes is the deliverance of one. He is not going to do the same thing over and over; He delivered the Israelites to prove a point to Pharoah and His children. He delivered Zacc to prove a different point. That He is God all by Himself and He needs no advice or counsel in what to do. But He does everything for a purpose; that no one perish. Scripture reference Luke 19:1-10.

The offer to receive Christ into your heart is still here. To receive that offer go to the Salvation page at the top of this blog and follow the instructions. If you have turned away from God, there is a strong possibility that He is waiting for you to turn back to Him; rededicate yourself to Him. You are already reconciled to God by Christ, the next step is yours.

All glory, honor, praise and thanks go to God for using me to deliver this message. REASSURANCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT

On numerous occasions God promises never to leave or forsake us (Joshua 1:5; Hebrews 13:5). In Psalm 37:25, David gives a testimony that he has been young and now old but he has never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread. Then in 2 Corinthians 4:9 Paul says we may be persecuted, but not forsaken. 1 John 4:4 reminds us that greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world.

How many times does God have to remind and reassure us that He is God? He is omnipotent, meaning all-powerful; omnipresent, which means He is present everywhere; and omniscient which means He knows our thoughts before we think them. Matthew 6:33 and Hebrews 11:6 reminds us that God rewards those who diligently seek Him and He adds whatever He wants to their life, with the recognition of what they desire.

So what’s the problem? Why are we so fearful when we hear about the failing economy and the rise in violence? God has predicted that these things will happen in the latter days, “perilous times,” He said, “shall come” in 2 Timothy 3:1-17. Even as Christians, 2 Timothy 1:7 tells us that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind. In Luke 10:19 Jesus tells us that He has given us the power to tread on serpents, scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing by any means shall hurt us.

Most Christians don’t know that Jesus has given us the keys to the kingdom of heaven  and whatever we bind or loose on earth will also be bound and loosed in heaven; Matthew 16:19 tells us this. So why aren’t we using our keys to unlock the power of love and a sound mind to drive out fear? Once in righteousness, we should start binding up the things that’s not of God and loosing the things that are of God. When you are walking right with God you know that whatever you ask it will be done.

God has been trying to reassure and encourage us from before we were born; He wants us to trust Him better than how we trust our earthly father. In Isaiah 41:10, God tells us not to fear or be dismayed. Why? Because He is our God; He promised to strengthen us, help us and uphold us with His righteous right hand. In verse 13 He reminds us again that He is the Lord our God and like a good Father, he will hold our right hand; therefore we should not fear because He is going to help us. As W.H.’s song says, “Hold on, God’s help is on the way.” David says, “I will look to the hill from whence cometh my help? My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2).

In Matthew 10:26-31, God tells us not to fear because there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed and nothing hidden that shall not be known. Matthew 10:27 says, “What I tell you in darkness, that speak in light, and what you hear in the ear, that proclaim upon the housetops.” Therefore, when we tell people His word, we are not badgering anyone.

Verse 28 of Mathew 10 tells us not to fear people who kill the body, but are unable to kill the soul; but fear God who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. In Matthew 6:25-26, God tell us not to be anxious for or worry about anything because if He takes care of the fowls of the air who neither sow nor gather into barns, but He feeds them and we are better than they are. Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:29 that two sparrows are sold for a farthing; and anyone of them fall to the ground God knows. Therefore if anything happens to us, we who are made in His image and likeness, He knows, even down to the hair on our heads, God knows the number of them. So there is no reason to fear because of if God takes care of the birds He will also take care of us. Matthew 10:31 reminds us that we are more valuable than many sparrows.

Remember we are servants of God. He has chosen us and He will not cast us away (Isaiah 41:9). Isaiah 41:11 and 12 tells us that all our enemies will be ashamed, disgraced, and shall be as nothing. “Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.” – Isaiah 41:11 and 12

Remember that God who calls us, is faithful and He will do what His word says. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 – “Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.” 2 Peter 3:9 tells us that God is not slack concerning His promises. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9

When you love righteousness and hate iniquity God will anoint you with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. Hebrews 1:9 – “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”

Though I walk through the shadow of  death I will fear no evil, for thou art with me thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4
