The idols and things that we put before God in today’s society are self, money, sex, jobs, cars, houses, sports, etc. The devil has stepped up his game,by increasing our appetite for self gratification, that people forget or ignore Exodus 20:3,”Thou shalt have no other gods before me“. This spirit is so captivating that it lures people into putting God aside and put self gratification first. Unfortunately, people don’t realize that it is the same spirit that enticed Eve,then Adam in the garden of Eden. This spirit opposes, add and diminishes ; the word of God,to suit self. But God distinctly tells us, Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought (anything) from it,that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command” {Deuteronomy 4:2}. So the question is: Who or what is your god? Has self become an idol, why you proclaim, “I am doing me,or it’s all about me,better yet what about what I want”. What about what God wants,Jesus said,in Matthew 16:24,”If any man will come after me,let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me“. Have you denied yourself the pleasures of this world, just to follow Jesus. Have you ever put your will aside for God’s will to be done? Luke 9:23-25 says,”If any man will come after me,let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. For whosoever would save his life shall lose it;but whosoever Will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it, For what is a man advantaged/ profited, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself,or be cast away?” Why should you put God first? Because, He owns the world and everything in it including you, as Deuteronomy 10:14; Psalms 24:1;And 1 Corinthians 10:26 tells us.The choice and decision is all yours, and if you are interested in putting God first, you can start by going to the top of this blog, click on the salvation page, and follow the instructions, then allow the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct you for the rest of your life.
