I John 5:4-5
For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
No matter what we face, the fact is,we are victorious. Not because of what we did,but because of what Jesus did.The thrills of victory and the agony of defeat is not only associated with sports. One day those who believe and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior will experience the ultimate thrills of victory, while those who don’t will experience the agony of defeat in the lake of fire. As Christians we do enjoy many victories over sickness and other things we overcome, but the ultimate thrill is when we are changed from this perishable body into imperishable heavenly ones that will never be destroyed, aged or become ill.
Some people love to make negative comments when you are celebrating a victory. Some call celebrating victories taunting, some say it’s unnecessary boasting, or showing off, but if they just for a moment think of where you are coming from, and all the obstacles, not to mention the trials and tribulation you have been through and endured they would be celebrating also. When you have overcome life’s challenges and taste the rewards of victory it brings tears to some people eyes, some dance, some shout, while others praise and thank God non-stop, and you have every right to, because Jesus did it as well.
In 1 Corinthians 15:55, it says, “O death, where is your sting? O grave where is your victory?” Was Jesus taunting the devil or was He just celebrating the victorious and successful mission He accomplished on our behalf, to make us more than conquerors (Romans 8:37); to make us children of God (John 1:12);and to redeemed us (1 Peter 1:18-19), the list of what Jesus did for us goes on and on. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one has access to God except through Him (John 14:6). It’s because He lives, we can face tomorrow, and we have a future in eternity.
So lets start celebrating our victory, and living victoriously through Jesus Christ who made it possible, this is the reason for the Christmas season, it’s a mass celebration for the birth of Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten son, that was given to us, as a gift, and out of agape love, unconditional love, and a limitless love. Will you accept God’s gift this Christmas? If you did not, recommit your life to God so that this Christmas celebration is meaningful to you. “Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” ( 1 Corinthians 15:57 ).
Now unto Him who is able to keep us from falling, and to present us faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy; To the Immortal, Invisible, and only wise God be the glory, praise, honor, and thanks for using me, to bring His message to you in Jesus name. Amen.
