MAKE-OVER

Do you want a make-over? When you watch television shows that give people make-overs you become amazed at the before and after pictures of the individual. However you have to realize that the people, those professionals, can only change your appearance by applying make-up, giving you a new hair style and you getting some clothes. The one thing they can’t change, though, is your personality or how you think so technically speaking it’s just a partial make-over. Now, I know someone who can give you a complete makeover.

Many things can cause a persons features to change rapidly or dramatically and some of those things are bills, death, marriage, children, your job and the list continues. However, I am here to introduce you to the best make-over artist in the world. He doesn’t only work on the external part of your body but also internal part exactly where it counts the most. When he makes you over, your whole life will be complete and your beauty will radiate internally and externally. The best news that you can ever hear is that He has already paid for it.

Since you are so anxious to meet Him, without further delay, let me introduce him to you. He is Gods perfect gift and his one and only son Jesus Christ (John 3 :16). Come on don’t be disappointed. No earthly person can clean you up as much as He can. No one else can transform you internally and externally like He can. 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 says,

“Therefore, if  anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new; and all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ.”

The new living translation, tells us in Galatians 6:15 that it doesn’t make any difference whether we have been circumcised or not what counts is whether we really have been changed into new and different people. To get a complete makeover you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Then believe that God our Father sent Him to redeem, reclaim and renew our minds. We can only be redeemed through Jesus Christ because all of us have sinned and fallen short of Gods glory (Romans 3:23-24).

John 14:6 clearly shows us that, Jesus is the only way, the truth and the life and no one goes to God without going through Him because there is no other way or person. John 1:12 tells us this,

 “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on His name”.

LOWER STANDARDS

Most of us at some point in our life lower our standards, dignity and morals to get ahead or to choose a mate. Most modernized churches have done so, which is contrary to the Bible. But no matter what, God never lowers His standards to accommodate us nor is He willing to accept less than the best from us. Most people think that because they go to church or are involved in church activities that they are, without a doubt, on their way to heaven.

But in Revelation 3: 16-17, God says this;

So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked

this is a powerful statement from the Lord which tells us that He will never lower His standards. So I ask you this, why should He? Isn’t it low enough?

Do you really think that you can keep lying, committing fornication, cheating and stealing then end up in heaven because of a good deed you did? Galatians 5:19-21 tells us that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Ephesians 2:8-9 says,”For by grace we are saved through faith not of ourselves, it is the gift of God not of works lest anyone should boast.”

In order for us to meet God’s standards, we must comply to Romans 12:1-2, which tells us to present our bodies as living sacrifices; holy and acceptable unto God which is our reasonable service and not to be conformed to this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. That we may prove what is that good, acceptable and the perfect will of God. Do you know what the penalty of sin is? The Bible states in Romans 6 :23 that,

“The wage of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

God’s gift is Jesus Christ, who is His only begotten son according to John 3:16. YOU ARE NOT IN CONTROL

Sometimes people who are in a position of authority like to use the phrase “It’s my way or the high way” which normally lets you know, by default, who is in control. Now, what I wonder is if God said “it’s my way or hell” would we still consider Him to be loving and kind? God, being the creator of all, has all the right in the world to use that terminology because He is in charge. Only God has the power of life and death in His hands.

In life, we must realize that even though we desire, want and pray for things if it is not in God’s will or plans, we will not get it. This is when  we need to realize that He is in control of everything. God is the C.E.O. of the entire world, master of the universe, therefore it is not what we want but what God wants for us. It’s not what we think but what God thinks. We need to come to an understanding that we do not have the final word, He does.

In Isaiah 55:8-9, God clearly lets us know that,”His thoughts are not our thoughts, neither are His ways like ours.” He then tells us that the distance is, “as far as the heavens are from the earth, that is how far apart our thoughts and ways are.” 1 Samuel 16:7 relates to this by saying, “The Lord does not see things as man sees it; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

Most of us are control freaks, yes we are all guilty of this, who have to be in control of everything and everyone.  However, Proverbs 16:1-9 tells us that we can make all the preparations we want but when it comes down to the end of the last quarter God has the final answer/say. A mans heart devises his way but only the Lord can direct his steps. It is when we commit our works unto the Lord that He establishs our thoughts. Proverbs 3 :5-6 tells us not to lean on our own understanding but to acknowledge Him in all our ways and once we acknowledge him he will direct us. We have to be able to trust Him just as much as we think we can trust our friends, spouse and parents.

We must lose control, we have to give it up, we need to relinquish it and put it all in Gods hands.  In order for us to be a success we must understand that when a mans ways please the Lord He makes even that mans enemies be at peace with him. It’s when you try to go against Gods plans that life throws you a curve ball and becomes difficult and overbearing. Then, with that curve ball being thrown in your direction, instead of being blessed you are stressed beyond words.

You will never be in control until you take Gods advice and cast all your burdens and cares onto him (Psalm 55:22 ; 1 Peter 5:7). You have to enjoy the peace that only He can give. IS IT MATRIMONY OR MATCH-MY-MONEY

People used to get married for love, for rich or poor, sickness or health, better or for worse. Now people are preparing for the worse, so they sign a pre-nuptial agreement. My question is; if you are planning to be divorced then why get married. Furthermore, what are you protecting? When you die you can’t take anything with you. Let me see you sign a pre-nuptial agreement with death.

Then it hit me, what if God was supposed to sign a pre-nuptial agreement with us after we accept His only begotten Son Jesus Christ. If God was like man we would  all be going to hell. Just imagine after you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord, Savior and Redeemer, and you decided that you don’t love Him anymore so you decide not to follow Him, and go follow the devil. Pre-nuptial tells the other person whats mine is mine, failing to realize it’s all God’s.

According to the pre-nuptial agreement, all the privileges associated with Jesus, all the grace and mercies, the unlimited favors, the gift of eternal life, peace, joy and love will be lost to you. Can you imagine walking or existing without the Holy spirit? Yes you have to give that up too. I just can’t imagine walking around without God’s direction and guidance. Pre-nuptial agreement is not love, because the love of money is the root of all evil, which is found in ( 1 Timothy 6 :10 ). Pre-nuptial is all about money, so that type of marriage is of the devil, who has no love.

Can you imagine if God decided, because we don’t want to serve or obey Him or follow His wishes and commands, that He would stop the sun from shining, take away the oxygen we use to breathe, stop the earth from rotating, or worse don’t even bother to wake us up. Don’t tell me you really think you woke yourself up or got up on your own.

It is time for people to know the truth, and come to grips with reality, and accept the fact that there is a God, more superior and powerful than anyone you ever know or imagine. Sin separated us from the relationship we had with God; So He sent His only begotten son (Jesus Christ) as ransom or payment for our sins. This is written in John 3:16 which states, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believe should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Romans 6:23, tells us that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life. The gift of God is Jesus Christ, who is the only way to God, the only truth about God, and the only one who gives eternal life (John 14:6). This is not a joke and in these latter days there is no time to play around or wait. There is no escape when you neglect so great an offer of redemption (Hebrews 2:3). Many sorrows shall be to the wicked, but he who trust in the Lord, mercy shall surround him (Psalms 32:10).

What are you in the relationship for? Long-term or short-term. God wants a long-term relationship which leads to eternity. If you are interested in a relationship with God go to the top of this blog. WHY ?

Why would anyone chose to die or experience hurt, pain ,and sickness is just not logical, when God tells us, ‘ to cast our burdens,aches,pain,and problems upon Him,and He will sustain us,and never permit the righteous to be moved’ (Psalms 55 :22);Then Jesus confirms it in Matthew 11 :28-30,where He tells us,” Come unto me,all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest….” ,does anyone have a better offer.

Why would anyone not believe that there is a God ? When the universe portray His splendor,as a matter of fact Psalms 19 :1-6 explains it better than I can,”The heavens declare the glory of God;and the firmament shows His handiwork,day after day they continue to speak;night after night they make Him known…”,So who are we to question our creator? Just consider the Heavens,the work of His fingers,the moon and the stars which,which He ordained…(Psalms 8:3-9).

Why would you choose to live for yourself ? Do your own thing ? when you know for a fact that if God is not involved in your endeavors or plans ,you and whatever you do is destined for failure ? He tells us to trust in Him with all our heart,and lean not unto our own understanding,and to  acknowledge Him in all our ways ,so that He can direct our paths  ( Proverbs 3 :5 &6),how come some people understand and trust God,yet some just don’t get it,in spite of all their failures.

Help me to understand why anyone would not accept the perfect gift of God ?His only begotten son Jesus Christ  (John 3 :16) tell us so;Is there someone with a better offer or gift of eternal life,someone who loves you more? Who sacrifice more ? My friends John 14 :6 tells us that Jesus is the only way to God,the only truth about God,and the only one that can offer or grant us eternal life,John 6:40 and Colossians 1 :19-20 confirms this.

It’s mind-boggling,how some people would rather suffer than trust God,would rather go to hell than heaven,would rather be in bondage than be free,would rather burn with the devil and his angels,than live in paradise with Jesus;Listen you could change all that today,just go to the top of this blog,click on to the salvation page,and follow the instructions,it will be the best decision you ever make.

What’s the most enjoyable hour of your typical weekday?

What is the most enjoyable hour of your week. Is it the time you spend with God, your spouse, children or relatives? Is it when you get away from the hustle and bustle of the day? Is it while singing in the shower, or is it making love to your spouse? What ever you think or say, just remember God should be first, before everyone and everything.

That’s why people invented the term T.G.I.F. thank God its friday. The phrase was so truthful they named a restaurant with that slogan.However with God, if God is in your life, you never look forward to friday, you look forward for the next day, to see how much blessing He is going to pour out for you. We already know that His grace and mercy is automatic, and it’s fresh daily.

Christians should never look forward to Fridays, because we have a God who will keep us in perfect peace  when we keep our minds on Him (God),and trust him (Isaiah 26:3). As Christians we should not be anxious for Friday to come like the ungodly or non-believers do,we should be singing the song,”One day at a time sweet Jesus, that’s all I am asking from you, show me the way, help me today, just to take one day at a time.”

Philippians 4 :6-7 tells us to “be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all  understanding, shall keep your hearts and mind through Christ Jesus”. Therefore, your most enjoyable hour of a typical weekday should be with God, when He is revealing His plans for your day, did you forget that God owns and controls your day.

If you never have this kind of experience, then you need to rededicate your life to God through His son Jesus Christ or accept Him for the first time. PARTIALITY OR DESERVING

If we are not careful, my friends, the devil will have us thinking that God is partial. Let me explain why in a scenario that you will understand: your friend goes to church like you do and everything they ask of God they receive. Unfortunately, you are still on the waiting list,still waiting on that house or that spouse or even that car. You realize that the more you ask the more others seem to get blessed but not you. Then you ask yourself, is it fair?

This is the number one trick of the enemy: the lust of the eyes, flesh and the pride of life ( 1 John 2:16). If you look closely you realize that all three occupy your mind so much that it consumes you and with that consumption you can’t hear from God because the road he needs to communicate with you is blocked and your ears are clogged like a sewer line.

Why do you think you deserve Gods blessings more than the other person? Do you know what a person does privately to get blessings? What their parents or grandparents did for them to receive blessing? I am sure many of Abrahams descendants don’t deserve Gods blessings but He made a promise to Abraham and God doesn’t break his promises( 2 Peter 3:9;Numbers 23:19).

So you think you are entitled to Gods blessings, may I ask what you are doing for you to feel  that you deserve them? How many times a day do you pray for more than ten minutes? How often do you read the bible? Do you acknowledge Him in all your ways? Do you seek Him and his righteousness so that He can bless you? Do you know His commandments and are you keeping them all? Do you present your body as a living sacrifice that is Holy and acceptable to Him or have your sins separated you from God (Isaiah 59 :1 &2)?

Why do you feel that you deserve Gods unlimited favor when you are not living up to His standards. If you are not obedient to His word in the Bible or the standards His son Jesus Christ has set for us do you still think you deserve his favor. Speaking of son did you accept Gods ultimate gift of His only begotten son Jesus Christ ?( John 3 :16-17) . Now you may believe that God is partial but was our father almighty partial when He sent Jesus to die for our sins? What in all of creation could you want or even could compare to what Jesus gave up for us? His sacrifice for us was for us to receive forgiveness from our sins, to have a closer relationship with God and to have Eternal Life.

Have you thanked Him today? Have you thanked him for opening your eyes? We have to wise up my brothers and sisters because He did not have to sacrifice himself for you. How often do you praise Him or honored Him first with the things He gives you? So realistically, why would He give you the desires of your heart or open the windows of heaven and pour out His blessings upon you when you are not doing the things He requires from you? How do you expect him to give you what you want when you don’t talk with Him unless you want to acquire something or need help with an issue.

In Psalms  37:25 David says this; he was young and now that he is old;he have never seen the righteous forsaken nor his seed begging bread’. You do not deserve His blessings because you are righteous, you deserve his blessings when you are righteous according to His (Gods) standards. Examine yourself and realize that if you are not receiving His blessings there is another reason and NOT because God is partial. The wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle and easy, to be entreated full of mercy and good fruits,without partiality and without hypocrisy (James 3:17).God does not keep good things from His children (Proverbs 3:27).

GETTING RICH

Did you know that money cannot buy your way into heaven or if you are a very unfortunate soul, out of hell? Yet most people love the idea of getting rich. They read books and listen to everyone who has an idea on how to get rich but they fail to hear what God has to say on acquiring riches or seeking it before Him.

Now keep in mind that God never said not to acquire riches but He warns you not to love it. Why you may ask because the love of money is the root of all types of evil. Some people are so eager for it that they have this craving for riches and because they end up drifting from God they inherit more grief or sorrows (1 Timothy 6:10).

Now I am not knocking anyone for craving money, I used to be one of those money grabbing, money seeking disillusioned fools. Then I realized that Godliness with contentment is great gain. I brought nothing into this world and it is a proven fact that once I depart from this world I can’t take anything out (1 Timothy 6 :6-7). Now let me ask you this, have you ever seen a moving company or a U-haul truck following a funeral procession? Want to know why? It’s because you can’t take anything with you when you die.

Earthly riches have no use or value to us in Heaven nor hell. There is no currency exchange. Do not take my word as the gospel, just listen to what Luke 9:25 says,

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”

All the pleasures in this world are just gratifications of the flesh, which, in the long run, turns to greed. Pleasures eventually take your mind, focus and thoughts off of Christ which is detrimental to us. King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 2: 1-11 tells us that he tried it all with all the wealth he accumulated, yet it did nothing for him. It was not satisfying, fulfilling, nor gratifying. He said it was like chasing the wind.

God wants us to enjoy the things He has provided for us and we must remember that everything we have and hold dear is from the hand of God. lets face it everyone, without God we would have nothing. The things we work hard for and would do anything to accomplish or recieve are just temporary luxurys and these things do not last forever.  What does last forever though is salvation and you can only get salvation through the acceptance of Gods only son Jesus Christ. Don’t take my word for it just read John 3:16-17 and John 14:6.

GOD IS WATCHING

Most people in the world don’t realize that God is watching and writing down everything that we do whether good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10). If you lie, cheat and steal you may have others believing that you are not THAT person but consider this; You can not fool God. Realize that if you are not punished now than beyond  a shadow of a doubt you will be punished later because God records all events. 

What people who are not faithful to their wives or husbands, cheaters, should realize is that sooner or later your past actions come to haunt you.  All cheaters believe that they get away with their transgressions but then many things occur at once. A child, an innocent, that came into existence outside the marriage tells the world you were not faithful by just being alive. The cheater may unfortunately receive some type of venereal disease from a couple of hours of fun that will not be worth a trip to the clinic. People, realize that something you do always reveals the truth to your unsuspecting spouse and if you feel you got away with it, keep this in mind: God records everything and you will have to answer to Him later.

We must come to the realization that we can not hide anything from God because He is always watching. Remember He never slumbers or sleep ( Psalm 121:4). When I think about trying to hide things from God I remember a passage David said in Psalms 139: 7-10;

 “Where can I go from your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the utter most parts of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me and Your right hand shall hold me.”

Then, to the prophet Jeremiah, God says this;

“Am I a god who is only in one place? Do you think I cannot see what they are doing? Can anyone hide from Me? Am I not everywhere in all the heavens and earth? (New  Living Translation)” [Jeremiah 23:23-24]

 In Psalm 33:13 – 2, David reminds us that, “The Lord looks from heaven; and sees the whole human race, from His throne he observes all who live on the earth. He made their hearts so He understands everything they do…But the Lord watches over those who fear Him, those who rely on His unfailing love, He rescues them from death and keeps them alive in times of famine. We depend on the Lord alone to save us, only He can help us, protecting us like a shield. In Him our hearts rejoice for we are trusting in His Holy name.”

My friends, whether you are a Christian, a believer, or nothing at all remember God is watching and recording everything whether good, bad or indifferent. Lets live a life that’s pleasing and acceptable to God (Romans 12:1-2), so that the things that are recorded are good and we can hear him say well done thou good and faithful servant.

If for whatever reason you don’t know God or His son Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and savior then you need to do three things. DOUBTERS AND DISPUTERS

No matter how hard the truth is staring people in the face and there is actual concrete evidence to support your story there will still be doubters and disputers. Unfortunately these are the people, doubters and disputers, who cause division and confusion among members. Let me point out a fact for you, most if not all the things in the Bible are spiritually discerned so it is natural that a person, who is not in tune with their faith, will not get it and they can not receive it ( 1 Corinthians 2:14).

In 1 Corinthians 2:9-13 we notice the process in which wisdom, knowledge, understanding, revelation and discernment is transferred from the mind of God, to the mind of  the  believer. Do not forget that through Jesus Christ, Gods only begotten son, we are His adopted children. John 1:12 tell us this; ‘But as many as received Him ( Jesus) ,to them gave he power to become children of God, even to them that believe on His name.

It is those that come with more questions than answers. Those who can never figure anything out and have to rationalize as well as analyze everything. These people are the  doubters and disputants in society. They will not accept the fact that one plus one equals two and not three. They want to know why they weren’t born rich? They want to know why they are not pretty enough? They want to know why Jesus is the messiah, the savior and the only begotten son of God? The reason they ask these questions, my friends, is  because they will not accept the truth and with them not accepting the truth they will not accept Jesus. Realize that Jesus is the only way to get truth as well as life. Plus you will not get to God without going through Jesus. It tells us this in John 14:6.

For to which of the angels did He(God) ever say: ‘you are my son, today I have begotten you’ or ‘I will be to Him(Jesus) a Father and He shall be to me a son’.(Hebrews 1:5). God never intended for us to doubt or dispute His word because He, the creator of all things, does not lie. In Numbers 23: 19 it states:

 God is not man, that he should lie,or a son of man, that he should change his mind.Has he said, and will he not do it?Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

 Hebrews 6:18 confirms this by stating;

so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

 My friends we must also note that He (God) is not slack concerning His promises, ( 2 Peter 3:9), so the doubt and disputes that we see coming forth are of the devil who wants more company in hell.

Behold, the Lords hand is not so shortened that it cannot save; neither His ears heavy that it cannot hear. But your iniquities(sins) have separated you from your God and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear                (Isaiah 59:1-2).

Let me also remind you that your thoughts and ways are certainly not like His(Isaiah 55:8-9).

In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways but in these last days He has spoken to us by His son Jesus whom He has appointed  heir of all things. The son (Jesus) is the radiance of Gods glory and the exact representation of His being sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for our sins He  sat down at the right hand of His Majesty in heaven (Hebrews 1 :1-3).

If you want to doubt and dispute those facts go right ahead because you are heading to a place that is void of all hope.
