“Come now,and let us reason together, saith the Lord;though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient,ye shall eat the good of the land. But if ye refuse and rebel,ye shall be devoured with the sword;for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it”[Isaiah 1: 18-20]. Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in the latter end. There are many devises in a man’s heart;nevertheless, the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand. The desire of a man is his kindness, and a poor man is better than a liar. The fear of the Lord tendeth to life, and he who hath it shall abide satisfied,he shall not be visited with evil according to Proverbs 19:20-23. “But the path of the just is like the shining light, that shineth more and more into unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness;they know not what they stimble. My son, attend to my words;incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes;keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence;for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a crooked mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on,and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left, remove thy foot from evil” ]Proverbs 4:18-27]. I will instruct you,and teach you in the way which thou shalt go,I will guide thee with mine eye,He says,in Psalms 32:8 My child, forget not my law,but let thine heart keep my commandments; For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee, Let not mercy and truth forsake thee, bind them about thy neck;write them upon the table of thine heart; so shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him,and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes, fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Honor the Lord with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase;so shall thy barnes be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine”(Proverbs 3:1-10). Now comes the warning,” Behold,to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry…”1 Samuel 15:22&23.
