No matter what you are going through in life there is only one place you can look for help, and that’s to God. Not the government, family, nor friends. David eloquently put together Psalm 121. Some people think it’s only for road travel, but when you are traveling through the problems, trials, tribulations and the rough road called life you better know where to look.

“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in From this time forth, and even forevermore.” Psalm 121

There is no hesitation or doubt about where to look and who to look to. If most of us will look to God first, we would not be in the mass of troubles we are in. That’s why the Bible is our guide and Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life and no one goes to God without going through Him.

God tells us to trust Him with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding and in all our ways we should acknowledge Him so that He can direct our path (Proverbs 3:5-6) which means the problem is not God, the problem is us when we don’t listen, are disobedient or we don’t acknowledge Him in all we do and plan to do. He tells us not only to be hearers of His word but doers also (James 1:22). So if we take His advice and counsel instead of the advice of anyone else then we will be blessed as Psalm 1:1 tells us. We should not be looking anywhere else because God is our first and last option, He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end (Revelation 21:6) so that’s where we should always look for help.

“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither;and whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Psalm 1

When you look to Him and call on Him the line is never busy and when you seek Him first and His righteousness as Matthew 6:33 says, He will take care of the needs in your life. After all He is the supplier of ALL our needs as Philippians 4:19 tells us. So there is no where else to look because He will not suffer your foot to be moved because you are planted like a tree by the rivers of water as Psalm 1:2-3 and Jeremiah 17:8 says; when your delight is in the Lord He will keep and preserve you. Because He does not slumber or sleep (Psalm 121:3-4), “He gives His beloved sleep. (Psalm 127:2)” So why sit up and worry if you give it all to God and are looking to Him?

“For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Jeremiah 17:8

Have you been having sleepless nights? Have you been too busy that you’ve forgotten to seek the Lord first? Repent to Him today, recommit yourself to Him, allow God to counsel you and give you advice, allow Him to give you sleep.

All glory, honor, praise and thanks go to God for using me to deliver this message. I pray that He will give all who read this message the spiritual gifts necessary to comprehend and act upon His word. I exercise my power and authority in the name of Jesus to bind every tactic of the enemy that will try to stop, hinder, or prevent this word from reaching its intended people. I ask the Lord to loose the Holy Spirit and the Heavenly angels to secure this word so that it reaches its intended people, according to Matthew 16:19 and Luke 10:19. Father God, please direct the steps of those who seek You, that they may find You, learn of You and know You. May You lead them in the way of righteousness for Your name sake. In the Omnipotent name of Jesus, Amen.

Have you ever gotten to a turning point or crossroad in your life and wondered where to turn? Life has dealt you a few setbacks and some devastating blows, and now you are older and wiser, but the economy is not looking good, you are one paycheck from broke, or like others you have lost your job, home, car and even your spouse, or you lost a loved one. This is the time when you find out what you are made of and the tough gets going; this is not the time to give up or throw in the towel. Some like to say the fat lady sings, but  the only time the fat lady sings is at your funeral, and if you are reading this it means you are not dead. So, the big question is who do you turn to when you’re facing a setback or when you’re at your turning point? Politicians don’t have the answer or the solution, some of your friends and family members are the last folks you want to turn to or look to for advise or help; So my advise is to do like David said in Psalms 121.

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills; from whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not suffer thy foot to be moved; He who keepeth thee will not slumber. Behold, He who keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is thy keeper; the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil; He shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, even for evermore.”

There is your answer to your prayers, that’s the only way out of your mess, turning to God is the only way out. The Bible has all the promises and is the only book that points the way to God. Are you ready to seek the only way to turn?

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,” –  Hosea 4:6

This message  spoken years ago is also for us today; Then when we look in Ezekiel 18:20 – 24 which says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die, the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son; the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him. But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surly live, he shall not die…” Now you see the only way out is God, and the only one you can turn to and depend on is Him. What will your decision be? And which way will you turn? The Bible is full of answers for every occasion, and the only way to God is through His only begotten Son Jesus. If you are willing to go God’s way – get started by going to the top of this blog. Click on to the salvation page and follow the instructions. I don’t need to write a whole sermon on the topic, read the Bible and see it, then experience it for yourself.

To God be the glory, praise, honor and thanks for using me to inform you this day, may His Holy Spirit give you the necessary tools needed to grasp and act on His words. And I by the power given to me in Matthew 18:18 and Luke 10:19, I bind the hand of the enemy and its forces, who try to steal this word, and blind your eyes, and harden your heart from receiving this truth and acting upon it, and I loose the Holy Spirit and the Heavenly host to deliver this message safely to whomever God intended it to reach, because it will not return to Him void, but will accomplish what it is meant to do, in the omnipotent name of Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
