STUDY THE WORD

God didn’t tell us to read the Bible. He tells us to study it.

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
[15] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When you study it, only then you can meditate on it.

Joshua 1:8 KJV
[8] This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

When you meditate on it, it becomes:

Psalm 119:103-105 KJV
[103] How sweet are thy words unto my taste! Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth! [104] Through thy precepts I get understanding: Therefore I hate every false way. [105] Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.

When you meditate on His Word, after studying it, you will trust Him ,and rely on Him more, which will allow you the privilege of developing a closer relationship with Him.

Proverbs 3:1-8 KJV
[1] My son, forget not my law; But let thine heart keep my commandments: [2] For length of days, and long life, And peace, shall they add to thee. [3] Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the table of thine heart: [4] So shalt thou find favour and good understanding In the sight of God and man. [5] Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths. [7] Be not wise in thine own eyes: Fear the LORD, and depart from evil. [8] It shall be health to thy navel, And marrow to thy bones.

Colossians 3:12-17 KJV
[12] Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; [13] forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. [14] And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. [15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. [16] Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. [17] And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
