“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.
And from such people turn away! For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith; but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, as theirs also was. But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” . (II Timothy 3:1-17 NKJV)
The Wisdom To Obey God
“If only they would “fear” Me and obey My commandments as long as they live! Then things would go well for them and their children forever.” (Deuteronomy 5:29)
“Not everything that the world offers–physical gratification, greed, and extravagant lifestyles–comes from the Father. It comes from the wirld, and the world and its evil desires are passing away. But the person who does what God wants lives forever “
(1John 2:16-17)
“Today I offer you life and prosperity or death and destruction. This is what I am “commanding” you today: Love the Lord your God, follow His directions and obey His commands, law and rules.
(Deuteronomy 30:15-16)
God has given us a guidebook for righteous living called the Holy Bible. It contains thorough instructions which, if followed, lead to fulfillment, righteousness and salvation. But since God created Adam and Eve, we humans beings have been rebelling against the Creator. Why, Because we are unwilling to tryst God’s Word, and we are unwilling to follow His commandments. If we choose to ignore Gods commandments, the results are as predictable as they are tragic .
Talking about God its easy, loving by His commandments as considerably harder. But, unless we are willing to abide by God’s laws, all of our righteous proclamations ring hollow. How can be best proclaimed. Our love for the Lord? By obeying Him. And for further instructions, read the manual…His manual.
God does not want the forced obedience of slaves. Instead, He covets the voluntary love and obedience of children who live Him for Himself.
