“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit”.(James 5:13-18).
“In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, “Thus says the Lord : ‘Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.’ ” Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord , and said, “Remember now, O Lord , I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord , the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years”.(Isaiah 38:1-5).
How Often Do We Pray For One Another?
+Do we pray more for things than we pray for one another?
+Do we wait for others to call us with a problem before we pray for them?
Confess your faults one to another, and PRAY ONE FOR ANOTHER, THAT ALL OF YOU MAY BE HEALED. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
1. PRAY ONE FOR ANOTHER…
2. THAT ALL OF YOU MAY BE HEALED… (Please note that we also receive HEALING when we pray for one another).
Luke 18:1 (Jesus said)
…that men ought always to pray, and not to faint.
+Please pray for me as I continue to pray for you.
