ATTENTION PLEASE

What does someone have to do to get your attention? Whistle, shout, scream, or drop a bomb next to you, before you realize that they are trying to get your attention. Some people just don’t want to be bothered or they have an attention deficit that applies only in certain instances. However, some people’s vision, ears and hearts are impaired because of their education, fame, job, or their physical appearance that they totally ignore the call that will save their life and completely liberate them. God has been trying to get our attention from before we were born through our parents, and grandparents, and they ignored Him and it now has a trickled down on many folks today, where God is secondary instead of first place, and He is trying to get your attention to change the order of significance.

To get our attention, He has done countless things like flooding the earth and only sparing Noah and his family, plus a pair of every creature He created ( Genesis 6), He has destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19); rescued the children of Israel from the Egyptians ( Exodus 12); took them through the Red Sea on dry land (Exodus 14); shattered the walls of Jericho (Joshua 6), and countless amounts of other ways. But He went above and beyond all those things just to prove His love for us by  sending His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to die for us, so that we can have a relationship with Him, and have everlasting life (John 3:16-17). There are so many things that God does just to get our attention and have us recognize His power, might, love, mercy and yet we take Him for granted and ignore His warnings.

Jesus, following in His Fathers (God’s) footsteps, tries to get our attention by healing the sick, raising the dead, making the lame walk, and the blind see; He turned water into wine, used two fish and five loaves to feed a multitude, casted out demons, was tempted by the devil and did not sin, He suffered, bled, died and rose again on the third day, and still, it did not get many people’s attention. What else must God do to get your attention?  God does all that and more to tell you that you are going down the wrong path, and He wants you to turn your life around before it’s too late. In Acts 9, Saul  was going around killing Christians and did not pay attention until God knocked him off his donkey on his butt, while en route for Damascus.

Does God have to knock you down to get your attention, like he did to Saul who became known as Paul and one of Jesus’ best apostle. Paul and many others realized that Jesus is God’s only begotten Son, and the only way to God is through Jesus, as John 14:6 tells us (He is the way, the truth and the life, and no one goes to God, our Heavenly Father  unless they go through Him). No one else can make that claim, “For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” – 1 Timothy 2:5 Now that I have your attention let’s turn our focus to God, and His word which states that, “If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” – Romans 10:9

Don’t go to the grave without giving God your attention because it will be detrimental to you, and then it will be too late to make amends. There are only two alternatives, which is heaven and hell; In heaven you will live forever, but in hell you will burn forever. Why would anyone wish to burn and feel themselves burning does not make much sense, when all you have to do is pay attention to what He says in the Bible, study it, obey it, then do as Acts 16:31 says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.” If God has gotten your attention then go to the top of this blog, click on to the salvation page, and follow the instructions.
