Most of us feel down and discouraged, and need to be encouraged. But how do we get out of that funk, lets see what men of the Bible did: First you get to the source of the problem and ask yourself, why art thou cast down,O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God;for I shall yet praise Him,who is the health of my countenance, and my God (Psalms 42:11). It’s normally when you are down, that people who you think would encourage you, turn against you,and then talk about you,but listen to what this expert in these matters did. “And David was greatly distressed for the people spoke of stoning him.because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God”( 1Samuel 30:6). When there is no one there to comfort or encourage you, that’s when you got to do it yourself. How do you do that? Ephesians 5:19-20 suggest that you,”Speaking to yourselves in Psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Then 1Thessalonians 5:16-18 says,”Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing,in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”.Listen you are not thanking Him,for the mess or tribulation you are in,but for the fact that,He is able, willing, and capable of getting you out of your crisis, that’s why you are thanking Him,you are looking pass your problem to your deliverance. Psalm 34:19 says,”Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. Therefore, like He told Joshua 1:7-9″ Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses,my servant, commanded thee;turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper wherever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein;for then thou shalt make thy way prospetous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of good courage,be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed, for the Lord thy God is with thee wherever thou goest”. Then Psalm 27:14 suggests that we should,”Wait on the Lord,be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart,Wait,I say, on the Lord”.
