STOP WASTING YOUR TIME

“Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue. And do You open Your eyes on such a one, And bring me to judgment with Yourself? Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one! Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.
{Job 14:1-5}
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
{Ephesians 5:15-17}.

REMEMBER,”To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, And a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing; A time to gain, And a time to lose; A time to keep, And a time to throw away; A time to tear, And a time to sew; A time to keep silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace. What profit has the worker from that in which he labors? I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men are to be occupied. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end. I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives, and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God. I know that whatever God does, It shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, And nothing taken from it. God does it, that men should fear before Him. That which is has already been, And what is to be has already been; And God requires an account of what is past”,{Ecclesiastes 3:1-15}.

AGAIN, I REPEAT,
“Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is” {Ephesians 5:15-16}.

“ Lord , make me to know my end, And what is the measure of my days, That I may know how frail I am. Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. Selah Surely every man walks about like a shadow; Surely they busy themselves in vain; He heaps up riches, And does not know who will gather them. “And now, Lord, what do I wait for? My hope is in You. Deliver me from all my transgressions; Do not make me the reproach of the foolish.[Psalms 39:4-8]

But for him who is joined to all the living there is hope, for a living dog is better than a dead lion. For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; Nevermore will they have a share In anything done under the sun.

NUMBERED DAYS

Job 14:1-2, 5, 10-12, 14-16
“Man who is born of woman Is of few days and full of trouble. He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue. Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass. But man dies and is laid away; Indeed he breathes his last And where is he? As water disappears from the sea, And a river becomes parched and dries up, So man lies down and does not rise. Till the heavens are no more, They will not awake Nor be roused from their sleep. If a man dies, shall he live again? All the days of my hard service I will wait, Till my change comes. You shall call, and I will answer You; You shall desire the work of Your hands. For now You number my steps, But do not watch over my sin.
It is so amazing how some people think that they have time,or that they will live on this earth forever, so they make plans for their life on this earth and refuse to make plans for life after death. David in Psalm 90:12 asked the Lord to teach us to number our days so that we may apply our heart to wisdom. Before that, in Psalm 39:4, David asked the Lord to make him know his end and the measure of his days, so that he would know how frail he really is.

It’s amazing that a man after God’s own heart, who was so close to God would ask a question or make a request like this. This also shows that a person’s age does not determine when their time on earth will expire. It also proves that not only  are we without knowledge of Jesus’ return, but we don’t know when our expiration date will come for us.
That’s why David said in Psalm 39 that he will take heed, guard or watch his ways so that he does not sin with his tongue; he decided to keep quiet while the wicked was before him. If we don’t keep quiet God can’t speak or act on our behalf.
The reason why we should number our days and make the best use of what we can do to make ourselves and someone else better, is because we all will die one day and as Hebrews 9:27 tells us, “It is appointed unto men once to die and after that the judgement.”
