Trials and test comes to test our strength, and ability to take a licking, and keep on ticking, and as James 1:2-4 says,”My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing”.
It makes no sense to avoid it,run from it,or complain about it,you just have to pass it. Remember, you can’t move on unless you pass the test; repeating is defeating your progress. To move from one grade to the next, or one school to the next you have to pass a series of tests at every level. So why is it we think that to move from the natural to supernatural, faithless to faithful, and being defeated to being a conqueror, we don’t have to pass a series of tests?
When an authentic Christian is tested, it is to see how much they have learned about the God they serve and how much they believe and trust Him, in order for Him to move them to the next level. Every test you pass God has elevated you to the next level. However, your adversary is waiting for you to seek, kill and destroy you, every chance he gets. That’s why you have to study to show yourself approved of God so that you can apply the word of truth like Jesus did in Luke 4:2-14. You can be successful like Jesus and pass the test so that you can return in the power of the Holy Spirit, and preach, heal, deliver and set the captives free as Luke 4:18 tells us.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” Luke 4:18
One thing for certain is that it’s not what you are going through that matters, it’s what God is going to give you that the devil is trying to stop. That’s why 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 tells us, “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. There is no temptation that comes in our life that is not common to man; but God is faithful, He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear and will provide a way out.” In Isaiah 43:1-3 God tells us not to fear, because He has redeemed us and calls us by name, which makes us His; and when we pass through the waters (test), He will be with us; and through the rivers it will not overflow us and when we walk through the fire we will not be burned neither will the flame kindle upon us; because He is the Lord our God, the Holy One of Israel, our Savior.
“But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.” Isaiah 41:1-3
Then He reminds us that as long as we are faithful to Him nothing can separate us from His love as Romans 8:35-39 says,
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: ‘For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. ‘ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
During the test God promises in Joshua 1:5 and Hebrews 13:5 never to leave or forsake us. In 2 Corinthians 4:9 He said we are persecuted but not forsaken. Therefore, we should pass the tests with straight A’s because God is on our side, who gave us Jesus His only begotten Son to show us the way, the truth and gave us eternal life as John 14:6 says. God also makes us more than conquerors through Christ Jesus as Romans 8:37 tells us, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Jesus has given each person who accepts Him the remedy to pass each test we face. Doubt says, “God might…” But faith says, “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). We have the power to pass every test and move on to the next level. Failure is an option because you can’t move on unless you pass the test.
If you have not accepted Christ into your life then you are not yet a conqueror, and your faith isn’t yet founded on Him. God still loves you, but He is waiting for you to make the decision on whether you will live for Him or for yourself and the world, He is waiting for you to receive His gift of salvation.
