LOVE NOT THE WORLD

The song says, “I would rather have Jesus than silver or gold and anything this world has.” When you get to that stage in your life where nothing matters but God and His Son Jesus Christ, then you know without a doubt that God abides in you and you in Him. The world with all its lust and lure cannot captivate you because it’s useless and worthless when you realize that you can’t take it with you as 1 Timothy 6:7 tells us.

1 Timothy 6:9-11: When your main and only desire is to be rich then you will fall into temptation and a snare; for the love of money is the root of all evil and those who covet it have erred from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. However, as children of God the Lord advises us to flee from greed, lust of the flesh and the eyes and the pride of life and follow after righteousness, Godliness, faith, love, patience, and meekness. Why settle for the unsatisfying things of this world when you can have better in heaven. Fight the good fight of faith and lay claim to eternal life.

1 Timothy 6:6 tells us that Godliness with contentment is great gain. The Bible tells us in Matthew 6:33 to seek God first. 1 Timothy 6:11 tells us to follow after righteousness, Godliness, faith, and love, and not after the things of the world that leads to death. What profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? Or what will a man gain in exchange for his soul (Matthew 16:26). Then Hebrews 2:3 asks, “How shall you escape fire and brimstone (hell) if you neglect so great a salvation?

The world will pass away with its lust, but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever (1 John 2:17).

When you really know God, you will become an overcomer, and when you accept Jesus you become more than a conqueror.

I pray that He will give all who read this message the spiritual gifts necessary to comprehend and act upon His word. I exercise my power and authority in the name of Jesus to bind every tactic of the enemy that will try to stop, hinder, or prevent this word from reaching its intended people. I loose the Holy Spirit and the heavenly angels to secure this word so that it reaches its intended people, according to Matthew 16:19 and Luke 10:19 in the omnipotent name of Jesus, Amen.

GETTING RICH

Did you know that money cannot buy your way into heaven or if you are a very unfortunate soul, out of hell? Yet most people love the idea of getting rich. They read books and listen to everyone who has an idea on how to get rich but they fail to hear what God has to say on acquiring riches or seeking it before Him.

Now keep in mind that God never said not to acquire riches but He warns you not to love it. Why you may ask because the love of money is the root of all types of evil. Some people are so eager for it that they have this craving for riches and because they end up drifting from God they inherit more grief or sorrows (1 Timothy 6:10).

Now I am not knocking anyone for craving money, I used to be one of those money grabbing, money seeking disillusioned fools. Then I realized that Godliness with contentment is great gain. I brought nothing into this world and it is a proven fact that once I depart from this world I can’t take anything out (1 Timothy 6 :6-7). Now let me ask you this, have you ever seen a moving company or a U-haul truck following a funeral procession? Want to know why? It’s because you can’t take anything with you when you die.

Earthly riches have no use or value to us in Heaven nor hell. There is no currency exchange. Do not take my word as the gospel, just listen to what Luke 9:25 says,

“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost?”

All the pleasures in this world are just gratifications of the flesh, which, in the long run, turns to greed. Pleasures eventually take your mind, focus and thoughts off of Christ which is detrimental to us. King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 2: 1-11 tells us that he tried it all with all the wealth he accumulated, yet it did nothing for him. It was not satisfying, fulfilling, nor gratifying. He said it was like chasing the wind.

God wants us to enjoy the things He has provided for us and we must remember that everything we have and hold dear is from the hand of God. lets face it everyone, without God we would have nothing. The things we work hard for and would do anything to accomplish or recieve are just temporary luxurys and these things do not last forever.  What does last forever though is salvation and you can only get salvation through the acceptance of Gods only son Jesus Christ. Don’t take my word for it just read John 3:16-17 and John 14:6.

PRIDE BEFORE THE FALL

Be very careful who you step on, spit on, or lie on to get to the top, because you will pass them on the way down. One supervisor once told me that, a person must be careful of the foot they step on, because it might be connected to the buttocks they are kissing. Both  statements are true, and Biblically connected. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor is humility (Proverbs 18:12; Psalm 10 :2). Isn’t it amazing that when a person has no education, no job, nothing of value to their name, they can be so humble, kind, meek and compassionate, with  all the good attributes that a person should portray, but as soon as they get that degree, job, house, car or some money to their name they are a changed person, they develop the Jekyll and Hyde personality, and totally forget who they were and where they are coming from.

We should never allow the pride of our hearts to deceive us, because it will bring us down (Jeremiah 49:16); one thing I want you to understand, If God won’t get the glory then you don’t have a story. However if we give God the glory, then it’s automatically a success story, we can do nothing without God, He owns and controls everything (Proverbs 28:25-26); lets not allow the fortunes of this world to change our concept of who we are and whose we are. Don’t get high-minded or arrogant when we get to the top, and putting all our hopes and trust in uncertain riches (1 Timothy 6:17-19). The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil, and the more you crave it, the further you get from God, which in turn brings sorrows into your life. You must remember that, we did not bring anything in this world and we definitely can’t take it with us; another thing you must realize, is that you can’t use money to buy your way into heaven, or out of hell; it does not buy you eternal life, or keep you from death, so why gain the world, and lose your soul. Godliness with contentment is great gain( 1 Timothy 6:6-12), so why not seek God, and let Him take care of you.
