BE HOLY

Colossians 3:5-10 NKJV says:
” Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.  Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience,  in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,…

Ephesians 1:3-9 NKJV says this:
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, THAT WE SHOULD BE HOLY AND WITHOUT BLAME BEFORE HIM IN LOVE, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,  to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace  which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,  having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself,

However, 1Peter 1:13-21 NKJV goes deeper,and says:
” Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;  as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;  but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, because IT IS written, “BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”

And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;  knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers,  but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you who through Him believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

My 🙏🏽 Prayer…
Heavenly Father,
On this holy Sunday, we gather before Your presence, seeking Your divine grace, guidance, and blessings. We acknowledge You as our Creator, Savior, and Sustainer, and we come with hearts open and ready to receive Your love and wisdom.

Lord, we thank You for the gift of this sacred day, a day set apart for worship, reflection, and renewal. As we enter into this time of prayer, we surrender our worries, anxieties, and burdens at Your feet. Fill us with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and help us to cast our cares upon You, knowing that You are our refuge and strength.

As we join together in prayer, we pray for Your blessings to be poured out upon us, our families, and our fellow believers. Grant us Your presence, for where You are, there is fullness of joy. Bless our relationships, strengthening the bonds of love and unity among us. Help us to bear one another’s burdens, encourage one another, and extend Your grace and forgiveness in all our interactions.

Lord, we pray for our church community. Bless our pastors, leaders, and all who serve faithfully in various ministries. Grant them wisdom, discernment, and a deep love for Your Word. Fill our gatherings with Your Spirit, that Your presence may be tangible and Your truth may be proclaimed with power. Use our church as a beacon of light, drawing others to Your saving grace.

Father, we lift up our nation and the world to You. We pray for peace, justice, and righteousness to prevail in every corner of the earth. Bring healing to the brokenness and unity in the midst of division. Bless our leaders with wisdom and integrity, that they may govern with compassion and serve with humility. May Your light shine brightly through us as we engage in acts of kindness, justice, and mercy.

Lord, we pray for those who are suffering physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Comfort the brokenhearted, heal the sick, and provide for the needs of the marginalized and oppressed. Give strength to the weary, hope to the discouraged, and restoration to those who have lost their way. Pour out Your compassion and love upon them, showing them that they are not alone.

As we approach the start of a new week, we seek Your guidance and blessings in our endeavors and responsibilities. Grant us wisdom in decision-making, creativity in problem-solving, and perseverance in our pursuits. May our work be a reflection of Your character and may our words and actions bring honor to Your name.

Finally, Lord, we thank You for the blessings You have already bestowed upon us. Help us to be mindful of Your goodness and grace, and may gratitude overflow from our hearts. May we live each day as a living sacrifice, offering our lives as a testimony to Your love and transforming power.

We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer.
Amen.
