” Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?
Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
But He gives more grace. Therefore, He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.” (James 4:1-10 NKJV).
God says, ” Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV).
“And to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Ephesians 3:19
My 🙏🏽 Prayer…
Heavenly Father, I come before You today, longing to experience Your presence in a deeper way.
Lord, I know You are always with me, but sometimes the noise and distractions of this world drown out Your still voice.
Help me to create space in my life to simply be with You. Quiet my racing thoughts and calm my anxious heart.
Open my spiritual eyes and ears to perceive You more clearly. Let me feel the warmth of Your love and the peace of Your presence.
Draw me closer to You Lord, and help me to recognize Your presence in every aspect of my life – in nature, in others, and in the quiet moments of my day.
Teach me to abide in You, to find my rest and strength in Your presence.
Lord God, I come before You with a humble and contrite heart. I acknowledge that I have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed.
I confess that I have fallen short of Your glory and have not loved You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength.
I have not loved my neighbor as myself. Forgive me, Lord, for the sins I am aware of, and those I am not. Cleanse me from my unrighteousness and create in me a pure heart.
I repent of my selfish ways and ask for Your help to turn away from sin and towards You. Give me the strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to recognize the paths that lead me astray.
Thank You for Your unfailing love and for the gift of forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Help me to live a life that honors You and reflects Your love to others.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
