A RENEWED MIND

The Mind of Christ vs The Reprobate Mind
1 Corinthians 2:16
…But we have the mind of Christ.
Then Philippians 2:5 says,Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: (a mind that completely embraces God). However,Romans 12:2 advises us, “And be not conformed to this world: but be all of you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”.
The Mind of Christ is the same as the Mind of God. It’s a Mind that is connected to the Mind of God through the Holy Spirit. It only thinks to do the will of God in Love, Faith, righteousness, Holiness, obedience and submission.
In contrast, The Reprobate Mind is an ungodly mind. A mind without God in it. This mind is anti-God in thoughts, words and action. The Reprobate Mind openly challenges and rebels against God’s authority, righteousness, holiness and Christ Himself. Please read Romans 1:18-32. Note this is the word of God. Those with a Reprobate Mind brings death and the eternal judgement of God upon themselves.
John 8:32 And all of you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
Romans 6:1-14 says,
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. For he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.

FREE TO CHOOSE

Another day and more choices and decisions to make, it’s better to accept Jesus now, because later, will be too late,at one point or another we all wish life would be simple. As Christians we sometimes wish God made all the decisions and choices for us, because Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to trust Him and Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us that our ways and thoughts are not like His. His ways, plans, and thoughts are far greater and better than ours. But for Him to make the choices for us, He has to be the head of our life. Is He the head of your life? Everything in life is about choices and Deuteronomy 30:19 spells it out loud and clear.

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.” Deut. 30:19

Sometimes in life we wish we didn’t have to choose or make a decision concerning our life. We just want God to choose for us since we are His children and He is our Father, God, counselor, lawyer, doctor, and everything to those of us who have such a relationship with Him. Life would be so easy if He made all the decisions, because most of us know without a shadow of a doubt that it will be the right decision and best decision because it would be His good and perfect will for our life.

Unfortunately, it’s not that easy or simple. In Deuteronomy 30:19 He gives us the power to choose; He is such a good God. He could force or bully us, but that is not of His character and it would not be love, sincerity or truth. He would not have bragging rights like He had with Job. How many of us are like Job, who boldly stood for God no matter the circumstance and declared, “though He slay me yet will I trust Him (Job 13:15)”? Or like Jesus who had the power to stop and say, even though I am asking for this cup to pass, nevertheless not my will, but thine be done.

This is how God wants us to serve Him, in Spirit and in truth. He wants us to make the choice on our own like Job, Jesus and so many others like Daniel, Moses Abraham and the three Hebrew boys. In these last days where perilous times are on us, God’s messages through text, E-mail, the preached word and otherwise is for us to make a choice and choose this day who we will serve. The message in Joshua 24:14-15 is clear, “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth… and if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve.” Hasn’t God done enough for you, why is it still so hard to choose?

If your reply is, “Far be it from me that I should forsake the Lord who is the true and living God, to serve other gods/idols like money, cars, houses, men or women, etc.” Then just go to the salvation page and make the choice of a lifetime to be committed to the true and living God and follow Romans 12:1-2 which says, in a nut shell, present your body to God, Holy and acceptable so He can reside in your heart.
