God has the remedy for those who are tired, depressed, discouraged, depleted of life and energy, and want to give up. Sometimes we forget that we are in a battle, against good and evil. Even though we forget and let our guard down, the enemy never lets up; he has our backs against the wall, with recession, unemployment, loss of loved ones, and stress, and we reach a point where we would love to give up. However, God reminds us that His grace is sufficient for us, because His strength is made perfect in our weakness {2 Corinthians 12:9}, and that the battle is not ours it is His as 2 Chronicles 20:15 tells us. So even though we are tired of fighting, He encourages us not to get weary in well-doing. Ephesians 6:10 tells us to be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.
Since, we are in the battle of our lives, Ephesians 6:11-18 advises us to put on the armor of God as soon as we open our eyes in the morning. Putting on the armor of God and walking in it will give us the advantage, because we have the best commander-in-chief in the world, who has never lost a battle from when He walked on earth. As a song says, “…up from the grave He arose with a mighty triumph of His voice, He arose with victory from the dark domain, and lives forever in eternity,” therefore, we have to dress for battle and use every weapon God has made available to us. So let’s go through our armor briefly so that you may be equipped.
Remember we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, and against spiritual wickedness in high places; wherefore, take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all to stand. Stand having your loins girded about with truth (some people call it the belt of truth). You have to know the truth in order to be liberated, in mind, body and Spirit; the truth is, all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. 1 John 1:9 says, when we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Then Romans 8:1 says there is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh but the Spirit; this automatically destroys the devils lies and liberates you of any bondage.
Next, we put on the breastplate of righteousness, which keeps us in right standing with God. This means doing what Romans 12:1-2 tells us, which is to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God which is our reasonable service, and be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by renewing our minds. Remaining righteous means that God has your mind, body and soul, therefore no weapons formed against you can prosper, and every tongue that rises up against you in judgement is condemned, because this is the heritage of the righteous {Isaiah 54:17}.
You have to be in Christ to be able to suit up with the armor of God. Receive Jesus in to your heart today and begin your walk with Him throughout your life.
