THE CHRIST WE LOVE TO TALK ABOUT

People like to refute and dispute the word of God, but it’s either you believe or you don’t. Either way, you will come to know the truth and it will set you free; to love God through Christ Jesus and what He has done to redeem and restore us into right relationship and rightstanding with God. The question is, why would anyone make up a story about Jesus Christ over all these years? Why would anyone want to lie about a gruesome story like that if it was not true?

The devil is the only liar and he has hired a few people to dispute and refute Jesus’ story because he has no chance of ever being in right standing with God. Jesus’ birth, death and resurrection sealed the devil’s fate and made us more than conquerors. Jesus guarantees our final destination in heaven with Him, instead of in hell with the devil. As a song says, “Up from the grave He arose with a mighty triumph over his foes; He arose a victor from the dark domain, and he lives forever with His saints to reign.” Hallelujah, Christ arose! Jesus is not a myth, fairytale or some fictional character out of our imagination. He is the real deal, the only begotten Son of God, who cannot be replaced or duplicated.

In the court system they believe that if there is one eyewitness, that is good; and if there are three, the case is stronger. In Jesus’ case, to prove that He died and rose again, 1 Corinthians 15:5-6 tells us that He was seen again by Cephas, then the twelve disciples. So far, the number of witnesses is thirteen above the three needed in the court of law to convict or convince. To make the evidence of Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection case stronger, God our attorney provided five hundred more brethren at once to attest to the fact that Jesus is real. Making the total count five hundred and thirteen witnesses, not to mention the ones who were not documented or recorded.

“And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.” 1 Corinthians 15:5-6

In John 20:29, it tells us those who were not eye witnesses to Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection are blessed. Then Romans 10:5-11 tells us salvation will be yours if you trust Christ. The emphasis is in verse 9, which tells us that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. “For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them. But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:) Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.) But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Romans 10:5-11

IT DOES NOT HURT TO ASK

Even though the sons of Zebedee were ambitious and it appeared as though they craved positions, they followed the principle of asking to receive. Their request was an impossible, but they were yet trying to secure a position of rulership because of their carnal or worldly mentality. But Jesus, before this, tells us that we have to forsake all and give up all for Him and God; Verse 29 says we will receive 100 times more. Job was a testimony of God’s return or his investment in God. When you invest your time, money and all to God He will give you one hundred fold and as we see in verse 27 nothing is impossible with God. “And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” – Mark 10:29, 30

However, to receive from God we must be His servants; willing and able to save in His kingdom on a daily basis. In Mark 10:45 Jesus tells us that He came to serve and not to be served. This shows His humility and love for mankind, which also depicts our Father’s unlimited love for us. Mark 10:45 “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Jesus tells us that, as His servant or disciple, we will go through things that He went through (Mark 10 verse 39). John 16:33 confirms it when it tells us that as His servants in the world we will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, because He (Jesus) have overcome the world. Since he overcame the world, in Romans 8:37 He tells us that we are more than conquerors. Romans 8:1 reminds us that there is no more condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus who walk not according to the flesh, but after the Spirit of God.

Being servants to God and people displays God like qualities of Jesus and His love for others. Disputes cause divisions and that’s not what God is about (Mark 10:35-45). Division is of the devil because he knows that united we stand but divided we will fall. Unite with Jesus and we will never fall. BEING THANKFUL

It is good to sing praises to God every morning and thank Him for His faithfulness every night. When God says He loves a cheerful giver, He is not only speaking of money, but also when you cheerfully give Him your time, thanks and praise, without murmuring and complaining and without being forced.

If you are a Christian and have not been thrilled by all God has done for you, then you are like the children of Israel wandering in the wilderness being full of forgetfulness and un-gratefulness. Psalm 92:4 tells us that God’s works and everything He has done for you should make you glad, because you will triumph by the work of His hands.

God has done great works and miracles. His thoughts are not only deep, but Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us that His thoughts and ways are superior and far from our own thoughts. When we think one dollar, He thinks one hundred billion. Psalm 92:6 confirms 1 Corinthians 2:14, that a senseless or natural person does not know this, nor do they understand or comprehend the omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of God because it is foolishness to them.

Again the Lord reminds us in Psalm 92:7 and Psalm 37:1 that the wicked will spring up like grass and flourish, but it is temporary because they will be destroyed forever; therefore we should not fret or worry about the wicked. However, the righteous, He says in verse 12 will flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Which means you will not bend or buckle to the pressures of life, instead you will grow as big as a cedar tree. Because you are planted, rooted, and grounded in the house of the Lord you will flourish in the courts of God and still bear fruit in old age (no retirement for the man of God) and remain fresh, declaring the uprightness of the Lord.

You can’t flourish like a palm tree and be righteous on your own. But with Jesus you can. Receiving Him into your life, receiving salvation is what will put you in right-standing with God (righteousness) and give you the ability to flourish. DO YOU FINALLY BELIEVE?

What else does God have to do so that people will believe He loves them and wants them to live forever? God expresses His love in John 3:16-17 and yet people are still stuck in unbelief. Then, He shows them how powerful He is through natural disasters and how He can take you out in the blink of an eye without any weapons made by man, His creation reveals His great wisdom; yet people are still stuck in unbelief.

It’s unbelievable how after people have lived past the age of twenty, they have no concept or interest in the God who made everything, including them. No matter how much good God does for them they refuse to acknowledge, praise, glorify or thank Him. Seemingly for some, the only time they remember God is when things are going bad and they need His help.

As Christians, Jesus reminded us that we will have many trials and sorrows, but we must never lose hope, trust or confidence in God because Jesus shows us the way; Jesus has conquered the world and has also made us conquerors. We must realize that He nor God never leaves or forsakes us. God’s eyes are always on us, He is our refuge, our strength, our help in time of need, our shield, our lawyer, our doctor and much more. All God wants us to do is to trust Him and acknowledge Him in all our ways so that he can direct us as He directed Jesus.

Draw near to God so he can draw near to you. Resist the devil and he will flee. Just remember the devil is already defeated and Jesus gave you all the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing can hurt you. Jesus reveals these things to us so we can have the peace that surpasses all understanding. This is why Jesus asked God to send the comforter to comfort, guide and remind us of the promises He (Jesus) made of paradise, His power and authority that He gave us, the presence of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit for those who walk holy and righteously, His unfailing love, His deity and His peace that surpasses all understanding.

John 16:25-33 “But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: and ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.”

Do you want the Holy Spirit to comfort, guide, and lead you into all truth? If your answer is yes, then, you have to start by receiving Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Visit the Salvation Page at the top of this blog and follow the instructions.

HE IS THE SAME

Jesus continued to love and be hospitable to people no matter how they treated Him, and He wants us to be the same. To love and be kind to everyone, even strangers, because they could be angels from God. We should always intercede for our brothers and sisters in Christ. As I always say, “If you’re going through something, then so are they.”  “Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained strangers unawares. Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” – Hebrews 13:1-4

No matter how the devil tries to distort and break-up marriages it is still honourable among all, and the bed undefiled. Which means you must keep yourself pure and faithful to the covenant you made, because fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” K.J.V.

Most of us, especially Christians, need to be content with the things God blesses us with, because He is our source. Philippians 4:19 tells us,”But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Hebrews 13:5-6, tells us to be content with the things we have because God will never leave us nor forsake us.

1 Timothy 6:6-7 tells us that Godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can bring nothing out.

Take the time to receive Jesus into your life today; learn about God, His word and His ways and you too will see that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Go to the Salvation Page above to find out more about opening up your heart to Jesus.

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
