Steps To Leading Someone to Christ; Salvation Prayer

Steps To Leading Someone to Christ

1. Admit they are a sinner (Romans 3:10)

2. They must be willing to turn from their sin. This is what the word repent means.(Acts 17:30)

3. They must believe that Jesus Christ died for them, that He was buried and rose again from the dead to pay the price for their sins. (Romans 10:9-10)

4. They must pray and invite Jesus into their hearts as their Lord and Savior.(Romans 10:13)

Salvation Prayer (Say this prayer out loud)

Father, I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness. I ask you to forgive me of all my sins in Jesus name. I repent and turn from sinning and doing wrong, right now. I believe that Jesus died and rose again for my sin and I accept His payment. Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart, right now, and be my Lord and Savior. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. I thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer and coming into my heart and saving me according to Your word. I love You Lord, and I ask You to seal me in the blood of Jesus and help me to live for You all the days of my life.

In Jesus name Amen.

Daniel 9:3-19

So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.

I prayed to the Lord my God and confessed:

“Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments, we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land.

“Lord, you are righteous, but this day we are covered with shame—the people of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, both near and far, in all the countries where you have scattered us because of our unfaithfulness to you. We and our kings, our princes and our ancestors are covered with shame, Lord, because we have sinned against you. The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against him; 10 we have not obeyed the Lord our God or kept the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets. 11 All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.

“Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you. 12 You have fulfilled the words spoken against us and against our rulers by bringing on us great disaster. Under the whole heaven nothing has ever been done like what has been done to Jerusalem. 13 Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins and giving attention to your truth. 14 The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him.

15 “Now, Lord our God, who brought your people out of Egypt with a mighty hand and who made for yourself a name that endures to this day, we have sinned, we have done wrong. 16 Lord, in keeping with all your righteous acts, turn away your anger and your wrath from Jerusalem, your city, your holy hill. Our sins and the iniquities of our ancestors have made Jerusalem and your people an object of scorn to all those around us.

17 “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor on your desolate sanctuary. 18 Give ear, our God, and hear; open your eyes and see the desolation of the city that bears your Name. We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy. 19 Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, hear and act! For your sake, my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”

Nehemiah 1:5-11
And I said: “I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father’s house and I have sinned. We have acted very corruptly against You, and have not kept the commandments, the statutes, nor the ordinances which You commanded Your servant Moses. Remember, I pray, the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, ‘ If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations; but if you return to Me, and keep My commandments and do them, though some of you were cast out to the farthest part of the heavens, yet I will gather them from there, and bring them to the place which I have chosen as a dwelling for My name.’ Now these are Your servants and Your people, whom You have redeemed by Your great power, and by Your strong hand. O Lord, I pray, please let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who desire to fear Your name; and let Your servant prosper this day, I pray, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” For I was the king’s cupbearer.

God can do miracles in few minutes or split of a second! My daughter is having a baby as her husband phone, transported to bigger hospital, the baby is breeched. The Dr. decide to do C-section. The family gathered to pray for her. Then I phone my son in-law telling we prayed for normal delivery, he said, my daughter got anesthetic injection, in 30 minutes the surgery will start.
After 45 minutes, he text me that, prayer makes miracles to happen, because when the doctor examined, the baby was in proper position ready to come out! The Dr. said, this is Miracle! never happen in his life.

Thank you for this. My dad had a massive hemorrhagic stroke, by big I mean 4 inches long, spanning from the frontal lobe to the parietal lobe, and part of the occipital lobe. He has been in a vegetable state all week due to the damage. I have been praying that The Lord give him a moment of clarity so that I may talk to him about The Lord. Last night it happened. He was able to move his head to say yes… due to the damage I asked him a few questions that the answer is clearly no… He didn’t move his head. I asked him if he knew he was a sinner, if he knew Jesus died on the cross and rise on the third day, all of this he said yes to. Keep in mind the Dr. has said he is not in there and most likely not even listening. We prayed the sinners prayer, I read it to him while holding his hand, he closed his eyes and I know in my heart he meant it. My mom says she had been hearing him pray in the recent weeks…. So then I asked my dad if he understood what we had just done and that if anything happens to him he will be with The Lord, he said yes. I started weeping, and he stroked my hand to comfort me, like I said, all week he has been a vegetable and basically unresponsive to anything we say, but he had a moment of clarity. This is nothing more than The Lord’s work. Thank you again.

I really needed this to get through.life hasn’t been the easiest choice for me for a while now.I have constantly struggled for many years now, have been loaded up on meds heavily and a lot of drinking causing problems in my family life & making bad choice that could have well destroyed my relationship with my wife and daughter.I am blessed to have a real understanding wife who has started to go to my office visits with me and help me realize that I can change, get the help I need to have a better life.though it will never be normal again, through family /friends support, and the lord we are working on it.thanks for this post.

    • Ozzie says:

      Glory to God!
Your life may not be normal as it was before your drinking, but with God it will be even better than before, in Jesus name. Believe that with God the latter part of your life is going to be better than the former (Job 42:12. Joel 2:23-27). Agree with what God says about you in His Word.

Be encouraged, in Christ you are more than a conquerer (Romans 8:35-39 & John 16:33).

  14. JohnK67 says:

My Dad had a stroke and is bedridden and unable to speak. What would be the appropriate way to try to lead someone to salvation is this condition? Can I say the prayer for him and see if he agrees with it?

    • Ozzie says:

Yes. You may pray aloud with him. on your dad’s part he would have to be in agreement with and your prayer. There can be multiple signs that show your dad’s agreement. I am praying for you, keep the faith.
